Hey guys, Maybe someone have an idea what else can I do. Let's describe a short story of my Sony Vaio laptop.
Two months ago I've accidentaly made my laptop fell off of a table it shut down and once I've restarted it, everything was ALMOST fine as he started to run slower and froze from time to time. I've diagnosed it and my HDD had some bad sectors, so there was a need to buy new HDD and replace the old one.
Because I've had little time, 2 weeks ago, I've gave my laptop to some computer service. They've replaced my old HDD with a new one, installed Windows 7 properly, updated drivers of graphic card, DirectX and some other stuff and everything seemed fine.
So I took home my laptop after it being repaired and everything was fine for the first 1 hour, then suddenly my laptop froze. I couldn't do anything, it would just freeze up hard and after couple of seconds my fan went on full speed. Couldn't move mouse, use keyboard or anything, even after 2-5 minutes nothing would change, only hard reset with power button would help.
I'm like what the hell is going on, everything was running perfectly before I had my HDD changed. I need to mention that : it's not a problem with overheating, I cleared the fan, there is no dust and sometimes when laptop freezes and the fan would go on full speed - there is cold air running from it.
I also need to mention that I do not own original charger -- it got destroyed by me like half a year ago and I had to buy some chinese crap from Media Markt (19.5V, 4.1A, so it's fine as it was charing the battery) and it was working. They've changed power socket in my laptop, because it got damaged (in a way that you could put the charger into the laptop and you could move it left and right, up and down, because some small plastic item got cracked).
I got a feeling that my laptop won't freeze when I'm working on it without putting in the charger but it seems hella strange to me that charger could cause laptop freezing.
I've gave my laptop to computer service again, describing my problem, they took it and said that there is nothing wrong with it as they were checking it for couple of hours and no freeze occured. They mentioned that they were working on their original charger for the whole time.
So I took my laptop home, I've went to a shop and bought a new charger. Not the original one but the good one, with the same socket as original one have and it still keeps fucking freezing.
It would freeze with no reasons, sometimes while loading shop in League of Legends, sometimes when watching youtube videos, sometimes while trying to run Everest or upgrade graphic card drivers.
HELP ME, I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT CAN I DO ABOUT THAT :\

My friends keep saying it could be motherboard... but how? Everything was perfectly fine, before I've gave my laptop to service to change HDD's and install new OS.

Hmm, no warranty of any kind left after the repair I assume?
Generally speaking, you should never go try and repair a laptop. Either you risk the couple % chance of something going wrong and just purchase a new laptop, or you buy a 4-5 year warranty. Having been a mobile device repair tech for quite a few months, I know just how much can go wrong with any repair, and the thing is, you have no way to prove whether they messed something up, or it was broken before, and it's really unfortunate, as if they mess up (but not catastrophically), you will not get any recuperation.
Honestly, I just would not put any more money into fixing this laptop, certain parts on the motherboard could have been scratched, static electricity, exposure to moisture, connectors not being attached back properly, other component failure... Talk to the manufacturer and see what they can do.
In the past, I learned the hard way, but for electronics, always buy warranty, generally it is worth the difference. Simply put, when a new product is only a couple years old, and the technology is new, all the kinks haven't been worked out yet, and you never know when something will go wrong.

The thing is even worse. When I was in MURICA, I've purchased that Sony Vaio laptop and honestly I took a huge risk, because I know I would not be able to fix it on varranty here in Poland and they told me about it. Laptop has about 5 years and I didn't have any single problem with it. Just after changing HDD to a new one, the freezing shit started and I'm fucked.
I've tried one last chance and I've gave the laptop to a friend of mine who is an IT guy in our company, let's see if he can find and solve the problem. Also I highly doubt that they fucked something up in computer service but I know that there is such a possibility. I just have no idea what could went wrong after HDD change, it was running smooth and perfect before the repair. Once after I've took it back this shit started. I can't afford buying a new laptop for now.

Wait, Sony Vaios don't come with international warranty?! I bought my Asus in the US too and was able to get it fixed for free when I was in China, even for accidental damage.

I would take it to the shop and show them it freezing with usage. Just ask to sit there and dick around for an hour and cause it to die to demonstrate the problem.
It could be that the CPU fan has been knocked loose of the CPU. If it's not sat on perfectly, then the CPU getting warm could warp the fan material enough that it doesn't sit on the CPU properly causing instant overheat, the fan to speed up to max and everything to freeze.

That's what exactly my IT guy told me, that there could be such possibility and he will start with checking that shit. Good hint.

A stick of RAM could be loose.

It could be any number of things, but in my experience with laptops once thtey start going south for whatever reason they turn into huge money sieves and never reach their initial level of performance (at least my family's laptops over the years that has been the case).

5 year old laptop. Maybe its time to let go and find a new love?

Dunno, sounds like it could be fucked. Some chargers (aftermarket ones) can cause overheating and static shock within the system, and can cause freezing and problems with the motherboard and hardware. Your problem sounds really inconvenient, though.
From what I have heard from others, Sony Vaios have a lot of problems after time (like most laptops). It might be time to stick in a fork in that machine, 'cuz it might be done.

i think this might be a good starting point.
my pc would shut down randomly or something.
it seemed to fix when i moved my ram sticks around, took one out for a while, swapped them over, put both back in eventually, havent had problem since

Capped lol. So my IT gut took the laptop, he said he will check first if cooling system is fine and if there is no problem with overheating. Thanks for all the advices.
