Hello everyone, I have received a few worried messages over the last week or so wondering why I haven't been blogging. Well the title explains it.

I have been meaning to get back to blogging for a while but I just haven't felt like it as I haven't really had anything positive to blog about. I started my blog with the aim of motivating people to sort their lives out and for the most part it succeeded , i'm not the kind of person who enjoys writing self pity posts to get attention.

I just have been feeling truly awful for the past month or so. I'm sure most of it is just in my head but the bloody cold I have had for what seems like forever hasn't really helped my motivation. Everyday I fall behind the worse I feel as I feel like I have failed the people who put a lot of faith in me during my initial blogging experiences here on TL. So many people start "life change" programs and fail to follow through and thats just not who I am.

I constantly feel physically and mentally drained. I'm still not sleeping well and even though sometimes I am able to get even ten hours of sleep, I still feel like total crap. I haven't exercised properly in a long while, haven't streamed and I am falling behind on my study.

Some of my friends have suggested I go see someone, they think i'm suffering from some form of depression. I don't really see what I have to be depressed about though. I have awesome friends and I have no financial worries. Hopefully getting back to exercising and streaming will sort me out. If not maybe I should accept some help.

My diet is the only thing I have properly maintained. I currently diet six days a week, my meals are well balanced and supported with proper exercise they should continue to make a noticeable difference to my life.

The first step out of this hole will be getting back to a routine I can easily follow. My aim going forward is to complete one hour of intense exercise per day, six hours of study and at least three hours of streaming/ playing Starcraft. My colds starting to recede so I think its time to get back into the saddle.

Everything is pretty much set up and ready to go. I have a really good diet that a good friend crafted for me. A fitness regime which covers everything I need to do alongside plenty of time to study and play/ stream Starcraft 2. The only thing I'm still not sure of looking forward is how to advance this blog.

I guess that will really depend on what people want to see, does TL want me to go back to blogging everyday as I work through 30-60 day programs or rather less. The goal of this blog was always to motivate people to improve themselves both physically and in game so ill happily do whatever help achieves that goal.

My last attempt to get back to everything was stunted by a leg injury and a really shitty cold, hopefully this time I can finally get back to it.

If your a new reader, follow my blog link below and take a look at the program I started a while back, it received a very positive reception and will give you a good background about what this is all about.

Thanks for reading, GLHF!

Solidarity. I woke up Friday with my right lung popped like a balloon. Lying down on my back or right hurt so I went to a hospital. They checked it out, couldn't figure out what was wrong till they got a chest X-Ray.

They put me on morphine and sedated me. Then they put a tube in my lungs to get rid of the excess air. I don't want to blog about it for fear my parents will find my internet handle.

Now I'm a constant 4. Even on Morphine pills.

Not to one up you, I saw 2 people in full body stretchers yesterday and the guy next to me has fluids in his lungs. Being sick just sucks and it's nice to talk about and hope for attention :D. And I don't think I'll be feeling the full effects of the lung defect for a full month like you do with your symptoms.

But you're right about being sick. Suddenly you want to trade all your old problems back to not be sick. It's impossible to enjoy anything while sick. I hated it so much that when I was younger I'd pray about it.

As for your motivation to exercise more, play more, stream, and blog, I think you just need to find a way to hold yourself accountable. Without the sickness draining you of energy, I find having anyone, even online, to work on something else with me helps. Streaming comes with automatic accountability but you need to set it up first.

How does this even happen? There was a programmer (I forget who) who had this problem recently as well? Is it just really bad luck or something?

(Had a root canal done recently that has some issues and put me on at least an 8 for a couple of days. I literally would not have wanted to live if I thought that was going to go on forever)

Who? Maybe I can talk to them.

I had a popped lung two times, the entire first time I woke up with it and the second time I felt it happen at work x)
I went to the hospital myself both times and don't consider it a very serious condition unless it happens to both lungs at the same time obviously.

Seems it can happen randomly to taller skinny people is the explanation I got from the doctors, after the second time I had surgery to "seal" the lung to the inside of my ribcage basically.

I've had no problems since and the worst part of it all was lying in the hospital for a week both times and unable to leave the bed because you're stuck with the tube in your chest.

I have never heard of this untill now. I'm 6'3 and 180lbs.

Is there no way to prevent it? I mean ... there are no tips the doctor gives your or anything ... just lol u popped a lung?

Damn you guys are gangsters.

Spontaneous Pneumothorax

This refers to a condition in which the lung collapses with no apparent injury or trauma.

Abnormal, small, air-filled sacs in the lung called "blebs" typically rupture and leak air into the pleural space, leading to the spontaneous pneumothorax. This happens in the cases of tall and thin people, who because of the shape of their lungs and chest cavity, are seemingly more prone to these defects.

Shortness of breath and sharp, stabbing chest pain develops in apparently healthy people.

Cigarette smokers are at greater risk for spontaneous pneumothorax.

Recreational drug users who inhale deeply and forcefully are also at greater risk.

It happens in like 10 out of every 100k people. Even if you're tall you're probably not going to get it

Avoidance comes from not doing too much heavy lifting. Make 2 trips from the grocery store/car because physical trauma can cause pneumothorax.

I think getting sick is a good reminder that life is not all about striving for achievement and perfection, sometimes just being healthy is a lot to be happy about. At least, thats how I feel when I get sick. Things slow down and I don't get to work on any of my goals, but I appreciate life so much more once I get better again.
