How quickly my chess has declined.

Last year, I spent quite a bit of time improving my chess. I worked myself to the cusp of 2000. On chesstempo.com, my tactics similarly hovered at 2000.

I just recently did some chesstempo tactics and went for like 3 out of 10. I felt so disappointed in myself watching my precious tactics rating plummet. Also, I didn't seem to have the same patience of calculating things out like I did before.

I still have dreams of becoming master ranked, and dare I say, International Master?

Don't give up on yourself. It's cliche advice I guess, but if you have dreams, go after them. Don't let some few mishaps or shitty days pull you down, man. I believe that you can become IM if you work hard. Hey, know this, I started off on chess.com with a 1200 ELO, and after a year of work, got to 1700! So surely you can bounce back to your tip-top performance!

Kind of like when your dick goes limp in own hands and you watch in disbelief. Dont worry, you will get there too. Id rather be frustrated with chess, less societal pressures. Not that I know anything about any of that!

I've had this too. Doesn't really mean you're worse, just that you're out of practice and forgot the mental discipline. Getting a bunch of problems wrong when you haven't solved for a while is pretty normal, I wouldn't worry too much about that.

That just goes to show the sad truth that learning isn't permanent. In the end it' just a huge waste of time meant to stroke your own ego by convincing yourself that you are intelligent.

Even if you consistently waste your time day after day in the futile endeavour to retain the information, you will eventually die. The electricity in your brain will short, and whatever neural structure is responsible for your chess skills will irrecoverably disassemble.

I guess a 2000 Elo rating is roughly equivalent to Top Master in StarCraft 2.
So it's understandable that your rating drops when you stop playing for a while.
