I received some interest for this project with my last post, and mainly Grovbolle posted a lot of good ideas on how to proceed, so here goes part 2 of the Aligulac Fantasy Proleague!
What the hell is AFPL? The AFPL is imagined as a different version of TL's FPL, where it's not about watching the game and hoping for your picked players to overperform so you can sell them and buy players you think will do good. The AFPL will be about sending lineups you think counter your opponent's and making a team you think is genuinely good.
Teams The AFPL will have 8 teams in it, mirroring the PL teams. The team captains will name their teams, but keep true to one of teams in Proleague. Examples: KT Darkdwarf, MVP Darkdwarf and DarkdwarfPrime.
The players of the teams will be selected through a draft process. Every team will have 40 points to spend on players, whose values will be ascribed based on their aligulac rankings. The captains pick one player each in turn, until they've spent their points. Every team needs to have at least 5 players in it.
Schedule The AFPL will follow the schedule of Proleague's Round 2, thereby starting on the 23rd of February and ending on the 24th of March. The games will follow the schedule too, with the AFPL mirror teams playing the same dates as the real PL teams.
Trade I have considered trading between team captains, but haven't decided on how to do it.
Matches Before each week, the team captains will submit their lineups (including ace) for each match. Admins (at the moment me, I guess) will use aligulac to determine the win percentages for each game, then factor in map imbalances. Where did those come from? Before the season every map will get decided how imbalanced it is, and a percentage factor will be added to it (for example: Bel'Shir Vestige +2,5% for terran), to make it more interesting choosing the lineups. Through generation of a random number between 0 and 100, a winner of the game will be decided.
Every match will be bo5, proleague format, with an ace match.
How do I participate? After my last blog, the following people said they wanted to participate: Darkdwarf (me) Grovbolle Pangpootata MouzChase zelevin MonsieurKay Varanice
This makes 7 and we need 8. Just answer this blog that you're interested, and we'll take it from there!
Trading should occur at any point between weeks with mutually consenting players. Players should just PM each other and if they agree, both PM the game admin.
Aw, so no jjakji after all Also, I think it would be more mathematically correct to multiply Aligulac prediction*map winrate for race*2 to account for map imbalances than to add a straight percentage.
Seems pretty interesting. Do you plan to draft the players among everyone or just use the existing teams from Round 1? EDIT: Just re-read the post and now i feel like an idiot. I am definitely interested though.

E: my formula is definitely wrong. brb
I'm not sure jjakji is out yet. Grovbolle said he'd help with valuing the players, and he wanted to keep the numbers down to a few teams. Most likely it'll be something like KT, SKT1, CJ, IM, MVP, Prime, Jin Air, Samsung, Liquid, EG, Acer, StarTale, I think.

Also, I reserve KT thanks.
I agree on the trading proposal.

Welcome!
This brings us up to 6 players, just two more spots!

After the draft have happened. We follow the PL schedule. We submit players for different maps, we roll an Aligulac prediction to get the initital odds: Lets say 40% vs. 60% We add map imbalance (let say plus 5%) 35% vs. 65% We generate a random number between 0 and 100, let's say 40. We determine a winner. (The 65% player) Rinse and repeat.
Feel like it should be just the Proleague player, after all it's a Fantasy Proleague. Plus we get a not-so-long list of players and we can use the player value from the FPL.
