Since I play piano, my friend thought I would be extra good at those rhythm games using the keyboard. None of it correlates whatsoever though.

I got a Yamaha P-95 digital piano that is the best piano I could have gotten for the price imo. If you are definitely getting a piano, make sure you get a lot of the accessories that come with them too. Before the piano, I was playing on a cruddy keyboard on a hard wooden stool that was too high for the stand. It was awful. Be sure to get a good piano chair, sustain pedal, sheet music rest, and you'll probably want some headphones to plug into your piano too. Usually you can get all of these products in a bundle with the piano you buy for cheaper than buying them separately.

actually this works the other way around. I started learning the piano at 7 for about a year, stopped. picked it back up around 17 and it was like cake for me. cake as in i learned op 64 no 2 in about a month. I've always had a interest in piano and songs like winstons cannon, and some semi hard songs. and i can tell you, being good at piano will help you in sc but i dont think its the other way around. with pc games your using your left hand mostly and on the piano thats really just the tune of the song but not really the melody if you know what i mean. honestly i think really comes down to how well your hand eye coordination is. my apm average in sc is about 200 or so, although dont know if this is the same with other sc/piano players.
