Help me identify song (I wrote down its melody)

There is this song that has been bothering me for last few years (I keep hearing bits of it throughout the year, usually at a distance, so I can only hear its melody). It has this idiotic melody that keeps on repeating over and over; help me identify it so that I can curse the damned band/group that created this excessively annoying song.

it's the right sample but not the song i've heard. the same sample (melody) is used albeit in a more repetitive, annoying way.

you know, it might be the original song that i heard -- but having heard it from a distance distorted my perception of it. listening to it to at a higher volume makes it seem less annoying definitely.

Music is really a language, one that anybody can listen to. I guess you'd say the "alphabet" of Western music is the set of 12 semitones in an octave, and rhythms are the ways you connect the letters to make words. Once you study music a bit, it's easy to see how music is notated. As for completely writing a song, it's harder with the way modern songs have tons of synthesizing and other beats, but the main melody that is prominent in the song is usually easy to write. The melody OP wrote down isn't exactly the melody in "Kids" (the rhythm was a bit simplified), but it was close enough to be recognizable.
