Another huge thing is that you shouldn't be too hard on yourself. This is what I personally have struggled with the most. It's easy to just tell yourself that you are depressed or a piece of shit or whatever and reinforce the idea that you cannot ever get out of the mental/emotional state that you are currently in. DO NOT LET THE PAST DICTATE THE FUTURE. Allow yourself to be even better than you think you are; don't let a low self esteem prevent you from ever getting out from under it. Some of this stuff probably sounds cheesy but it's real stuff I've found with battling depression and I could still stand to listen to some of it myself. Feel free to PM me if you ever need to just vent or want some advice. I've been there man, keep your head up. | ||

Dear OP, Find a way to express your sadness and your anger. Yes, life sucks. You've just realized the most important aspect of life. The positive thing is: You don't suck. So do something. Learn an instrument, find a girl, do sports, read books, whatever makes you feel less terrible. There is no thing as "the meaning of life". Basically it's all about getting along with yourself, because you're the person you'll be having to deal with your entire life. | ||
