i cant express how much i hate parties. going to those parties will only make your lameness go up by 200% every time. im sure most of you know what i mean... but if you dont, then maybe you need a reality check.

lemme put it this way. in this town, there are usually no new ppl to meet at parties, so there actually arent any real parties in this town. all the "parties" are nothing but illusional events that people make up in attempt to try to made themselves look less pathetic and less socially inept... but the fact is... thats not even socializing. going to those parties isnt any different than hanging out with a couple of friends, so dont call people anti-social just bcause they arent willing to go to those lame ass parties... because after all, its not because that they are anti-social, its because that those parties are the lamest thing ever.

there are no real losers here... because everybody is. trying to meet new guy friends at a party here makes you a homosexual, but trying to meet new female friends makes you nothing but another one of those desperate guys... so its a lose-lose situation. this also creates an awkward situation at times... after going to a few of those lame parties, you realize that there are actually a lot of people that you either dont know or they dont care to know you... but you kinda know them since you see them EVERY time you go to ANY social event... so it gets you thinking.... should i say hi to them because i KINDA know them?... or should i pretent that i have never seen them in my life?.... or should i ignore them since it would be awkward?... or should i try to make friends with them even though i already know they arent really interested?... or should i just stop going to those parties?... the answer is easy: stop going to those lame parties and if ppl want to act like they are cooler than you just because they go to those lame parties, let them be.

i have way more rants on but its time to get back to work. its also time to get outta here and start a new life if you hanvet planned on doing so. im not bitter because i am already getting out. im just trying to be real.

ps. i havent gone on any recruiting trips since i got here. it wasnt because i didnt want free trips nor because i couldnt if i tried, but because i didnt want to lie to those kids about how exciting and nice FL is. i hated it when i had to lie and see them getting excited then depressed after starting their lives here. it hurts. it hurts because i know exactly how that feels, to be disappointed and lied to.

From personal experience, living near a university / urban location was worth leaving a good job for... to end up mowing lawns, paying mortgages, cleaning poop off walls, etc.

I'm sure you knew what you were getting into with that major/degree/job just keep your options open!

Yeah, I definitely knew what I was getting into; I interned here last year so I know (and love) the work, the interconnectivity of the Internet allows me to keep in touch with my few and very close friends, and I enjoy coming up with things to do on my own. Don't take this the wrong way, but parties and meeting new folks isn't my way of having a good time. So I can tolerate being out here in the desert, lol.

I don't plan on working here forever. I want to move on within five years, but I'll gladly stay for two or three. And I'll simply enjoy myself until then. But thanks for the advice, and I hope your prospects improve too, haha!

But back on topic, YOU NEED A BETTER KEYBOARD!! that generic looking one needs replacement. I know a lot of folks love them mechanical keyboards or those GXX keyboards, but I've exclusively used "Logitech Illuminated Ultrathin Keyboard with Backlighting" at both work and home. :-)
