I awoke this morning groggy eyed and still sore from the horrible hiking trip I attempted over the long weekend. I look towards my blinds and notice the sun wasn't fully out, but that's pretty normal for me as I had just recently started a new internship in a new city (Vancouver, Canada) and my nerves have still been acting up. I swear that a loud noise was the reason I awoke, but it was probably either my crazy Turkish roommates (whose Fifa matches are always accompanied by loud BUHBAHs) or just a dream. I reached towards my phone which is hiding underneath my window, only to find sharp pain as there are shards of glass on my chair.
Wait wtf? Why is my window on my chair....
I then proceed to look outside only to see the most WTF moment to be had in Canada:
AH WTF WHY IS THERE A CAR ON FIRE OUTSIDE OF MY APARTMENT!
Convinced the mob is out to get me, I curled into a ball and cried for about half an hour, but manning up to the sounds of the fire department I walked outside to see this:
Walking back inside I surveyed the damage...one of my windows had completely shattered, and the only reason I didn't get hurt was because my hero blinds saved the day. My other window (that had confused me in the morning) had literally popped out of the frame from the blast of the explosion and was just sitting on my chair (look it thinks it's people!):
This is the shattered window:
I did manage to find this link: EXPLOSION, and it turns out it was just some plumber that fucked up, and thankfully no one was hurt.
I then inexplicitly headed to work, even though I had the best excuse to not show up ever (Hey so...my house just exploded, maybe I might take the day off?)
But I did proceed to get some breakfast, because fuck ya brisket skillet.

I can't believe I totally posted early by accident >_>

Also does anyone know why the images are still all 'image loading'??

Your images work for me...I'm confused, since it's the same markup (just the img tag). Maybe because they are in the spoilers?

Edit: oops made a mistake.
Anyway that sounds like fun. You got some adrenaline pumping action today!

Wow, sorry I rated 1/5 before the edit! That must have been nuts to see a flaming car outside. Just like the movies! So how does a plumber manage to blow up a car, anyway?

Jesus, glad you are ok. Welcome to Vancouver! It is a beautiful city. Usually when cars are blown up it is over hockey though, not plumbing.

It's fine...This is my first post and I totally hit Spacebar by accident when I was outside of the text box like a total noob =/. Thanks for the vote of confidence about the finished content =).
So he had a leaking can of ethanol in the back of his car, and when he used one of those electric keys, a spark blew the whole thing up!
I always thought cars exploding was a movie thing because of mythbusters...or at least until today XD

It is an amazing city, minus the fact that my apartment has exploded windows still...I'm originally from Toronto, so all the nature here is crazy to me lol.
On a hockey note...I don't understand how there weren't riots about that last Toronto-Boston Game this season (honestly up two goals with a minute and a half left...). Haha

Just wait for summer when it isn't 80% humidity and you don't need AC, or the winter when you can ride your bike because there is no snow, or February for when the daffodils show up. Then take many pictures and send them to your folks back home.
As for tor/bos, the best joke I heard was whether the crowds of people leaving Maple Leaf Square after game 7 counted as a parade lolol.

Welcome to Vancouver! Ski in the morning, beach in the afternoon, club at night, and do drugs all day.
Really though, this city is awesome. Cars don't usually explode, promise. What is your internship for?

damn I saw this on the news on my TV this morning. Glad you're not hurt
