Post-"fun" depression?

The first day back to reality is always so tough. I actually have a long to-do list and my work day has just started, and yet I feel no energy to actually start working on the items I have in there. I'm even taking the time to write this quick blog!

I thought it was only travel-related as I've always only felt this kind of sinking feeling after I came home from a trip that I really enjoyed. I've taken long weekends off work before and never felt this kind of lethargy when I came back.

Or maybe it feels like I traveled cause I had friends from overseas who visited during the weekend. And maybe I'm just missing actually hanging out with them in person.

Anyone else ever felt this way before?

I think its normal. I often get the feeling I think you are describing after I have just completed something. I start procrastinating a lot more. I hadn't really thought about why before.

I do. All the time. It's fucked me over when it comes to schoolwork.
I've found it is far easier to do work right after coming home from school than if I have fun before I get started.

Kinda hard to deal with this kind of thing in the workplace though.

Guess I'll just have to put in extra time today to make up for the time I've been wasting this morning lol. I'll probably get my sense of urgency back when we're done with our daily catch-up.

Happened to me once returning from a holiday, I pretty much wasn't functional for 2 or 3 days. While not directly comparable I'd imagine it's just an interruption of sorts to your routine, or the promise of something more fun/enjoyable that you are missing out on, especially damaging to focus I guess.

As mentioned, it's not depression and it'll take you a couple of days until you get into the normal routine so I wouldn't worry. You probably feel a bit sad at having to work after enjoying your friends' company

ive been travelling for the past 5 years,and usually spend 2 months back in france inbetween travels,most years i actually am never completely back to normal,but get better after 3-4 weeks.
been in france for the past 2 months,and still mope around the house on weekends,trust me i know your feeling too well;)
