Ayo. I know there's a ton of people with interest in the various genres of electronic music here on Team Liquid and was hoping someone could help me out. There's always been some music of the type that I've dug but have never tried to reach deeper and find a bunch of it. Listening to some of my sister's stuff, I've wanted to change that!
As a complete newbie, the several billion subgenres and such I always hear about are terrifying. As such, I'm hoping some of y'all could help me out with finding stuff similar to this:

Some samples:
Serenity's Wake by Sole Signal. (Remix of Title Theme of Wave Racer) Source; Download
Thunderstruck by Big Giant Circles. (Remix of Windmill Hut from Ocarina of Time) Source; Download
The Passing of the Blue Crown by Steppo, Sixto Sounds, Zircon (Remix of Title Theme from Mega Man III) Source; Download
(If you're interested, PM me, and I can recommend a host more, all free (legal) downloads)
FF7 VotL by OCRemix is incredible. And the best tracks are from the same artists as the tracks you posted here (Big Giant Circles, Sixto Sounds and Zircon).
Electronic music person here. EDM is a blanket genre used for all danceable electronic styles, people use the term similarly to like.....rock...so its far too general to actually have any specific sound.
The tracks you posted:
First one would probably be classified as progressive house of the arena avicii style thats really huge right now, but with some nice retro flavor.
Second track is more electro house but with a ton of prog and some of that same retro.
I will go throu and grab some tracks from my main comp a bit later for you to try and see which direction you like out of those. Should be fun. OK. I'm on my computer.
So you have basically three elements in the tracks you like: Prog house, Electro, and a retro/french house vibe
I'll take you in all the directions and see where you wanna go
So firstly if you go in a bit of an electro direction you end up with artists like Lazy Rich, maybe you'll like his remixes
If you don't like that direction you can go towards prog house more, I don't really enjoy the more modern style with its emphasis on huge arena melodies, so here is some older style more relaxing stuff:

If you want to investigate on your own, Beatport is the itunes of almost all new electronic. It has nice sorting and suggestion features so if you search for a track on it you can listen to a fairly large sample and connect to other releases by the label or other tracks by that artist/related artists. Of course then you can find these releases elsewhere on the web for a cheaper price usually ;
To me it seems like you enjoy the big arena/festival and trouse style that's big right now. I'd suggest listening to any Avicii, Armin van Burren, Sander van Doorn, Ferry Corsten, Tiesto, David Guetta, W&W, ATB, Tritonal. Basically check out Armada as a label.
