Part One: Top Lane
Ssumday
Ranking: 2
Team: KT Rolster B
Go-to champions: Renekton, Olaf, Elise
Ssumday made his debut on television for KT Rolsters during OGN Club Masters tournament. Nobody knew what to expect from this 16 year old, but soon it would be clear that he would be heading for great things. As of now, he is literally the hottest talent in Korea right now.
I remember shouting at the screen half-naked, who is this scrub that’s about to get slaughtered by Maknoon? Then I came.
Ssumday was just a kid when he was introduced to the League of Legends by a friend of his whose brother was into obscure foreign games. The Korean server was not available back then, and being a kid with no MOBA experience, not knowing how to communicate in English led him to believe this just wasn’t the game for him.
When the Korean server was created, Ssumday dreamed of being a famous progamer like Maknoon. He joined a small team called psw Ares, a team that had previous failed to qualify for Azubu The Champions Summer season by losing to CLG NA. Coincidentally, the spot was opened after Ragan, the top-laner for the team had left after failing to qualify.
Ssumday tried to qualify for Olympus The Champions Winter season against Najin Shield, but was taught a lesson by Expession, the elite top-laner respected by everyone in Korea. His team looked inexperienced, and not yet ready for the big stage as Najin Shield thwarted them three games to zero. Psw Ares disbanded soon afterwards, citing financial difficulties, and Ssumday had to take his talent elsewhere.
His chance to take vengeance against the master of the top-lane himself, Expession, came earlier than expected when he was recruited by KT Rolster to play for them in the OGN Club Masters in his television debut. His champion of choice, Renekton, completely shut down Expession’s Shen from doing anything useful by disrupting his ultimate with some smartly timed stuns. He then proceeded stomp Maknoon, a player admittedly slacking somewhat after his successful Olympus The Champions Winter season campaign. Ssumday showcased his skills to the world as his team finished 3rd in the OGN Club Masters and came out unscathed in battles against some of the best top-laners Korea had to offer in the form of Expession, Maknoon and Flame.
Renekton is Ssumday’s favourite champion. This is him owning faces with it.

Hungry for more chocolate-Ssumday? Here’s more
It was a testament to his skills as he kicked out one of the best performing members of KT Rolster B, a team that had just finished 3rd in the previous OGN tournament. It was the second consecutive time he had replaced Ragan as a top-laner of his team. KT Rolster B had done a complete make-over, and the whole of Korea was speculating whether the addition of Ssumday and inSec would make KT Rolster B an even scarier team than before.
Results came immediately. KT Rolster B qualified for the MLG Winter Championship International Exhibition, going through MVP Blue, Najin Shield and their sister team, KT Rolster A. Ssumday was not afraid to extend his comfort zone with strong performances with champions he hadn’t showcased before, such as Nidalee and Tryndamere.
I’m sure those poor KT Rolster A guys will avenge this loss… ssumday.
Ssumday then brought KT Rolster B their first trophy since their incarnation about five months prior to their outing to the rest of the world. Ssumday showed off his skills to the Western world, fairing quite well despite this being his first international tournament despite the tender age of sweet sixteen. Voyboy, regarded by many as the best top-laner in North America, and Darien, the fearsome Russian from the world renowned Gambit Gaming couldn’t stop the energetic teenager from marking his spot in the world for the very first time. The MLG Winter Championship International Exhibition was his for the taking, and the world was his oyster.
Fed Darius=dunking galore.
As I’m writing this Ssumday is again wrecking faces for his team in Battle Royale against Xenics Storm, against non-other than... gasp… Ragan, the previous top-laner for KT Rolster B, squaring off against him. The sky’s the limit for this guy it seems.
To be honest, I’ve deliberated for quite a while whether I should include Expession instead of Ssumday as for the second best top-laner in Korea. Expession, the top-laner respected by all professionals and amateurs alike, the guy who Maknoon admitted to being inferior to skill-for-skill. Ssumday, the hot new sensation, the upstart unsettling the hierarchy of top-laners. In the end I went for Ssumday. It’s true that he has a long road ahead of him, and he still has some tweaking to do, but he is a diamond in the rough.
Indeed he is still inexperienced, and despite some weak performances against Cheonju’s notoriously scary Rumble, he did came out on top of almost every single encounter he had in his recent debut. True, he can be overly aggressive and his play lacks the cohesion with other members of the team that Shy has, but then again, the guy only made his television debut a month ago. Things can only get better from here as he builds chemistry with this young team and gains experience over time. The future’s bright for this kid, he might even become the best top-laner in the world…. Ssumday.
