I re-met an old childhood friend of mine, haven't seen her for more than 10 years. Yay.
She's actually gotten pretty beautiful. Yay.
We started talking right away, I had forgotten nearly everything about her. Yay.
She's pretty funny and nice. Yay.
Turns out, we have a lot of common tastes. Yay.

For the first time in years, I'm not dropping the spaghetti and I'm gonna ask this chick out. Yay.
Just gotta get the timing right.

She's got a boyfriend. Shit.
And I was already head over heels, and it's hard to find a chick that I'm genuinely interested in. Shit.

This actually just occurred to me because I have almost experienced the same thing recently. In our society it's generally taboo to hook up with a girl who has a mate. Right? It's one of the many virtual "rules" people create. I watched a video of Arnold Schwarzenegger's secrets to success. One of his secrets was break the rules, not the law but break the rules. "It is impossible to be a maverick or true original if you're too well behaved and don't want to break the rules. What is the point of being on this Earth if all you want to do is be like everyone."

I think you still have a decent shot at her even if she has a boyfriend. Boyfriend =/= husband. Ok. You should find out how committed she is to her relationship, has she been with him for years? Half a year? Few months? Two weeks? O_O
My personal opinion is I would go for her if she's not been in the relationship for more than a few months, engaged or married. You should use your own discretion since you want the girl.

Just do things you won't regret.. the longer you wait..

I think its more of issue with her morals if she went out with you because you were better than her current bf. Is she going to drop you in a day caues some other guy walks in? She should be more committed.

Nah, it's not depressing, I'm just mad at myself for forgetting to ask her number. And from what I got, she has been dating the guy for about a year, it seems, but that's pretty much all I know. I had just re-met her and didn't wanna meddle too much into that sort of stuff. Pretty much. Even though she doesn't seem like the kind that switches guys as soon as a new "decent" one walks into her life, if, hypothetically, she switched him for me, who's to say it wouldn't happen again and switch me with some other guy? That's my main issue with chicks who are already in relationships. Besides, I would hate to the be the other guy, and I would most likely do something insane if it happened to me.

Well, I saw the chick again yesterday, we talked for hours again (2 or 3? She invited me to her house because it was raining and my house is quite a bit far away, but I had stuff setup with a friend already, but oh how I wish I had gone with her, night wasn't good for me for other reasons). Got her number, finally, so I can set something up, but I'm gonna fall into the dreaded friendzone with her so it's not worth it. Maybe when I'm bored.
