In order to do that, I know that I'm going to practice relentlessly, and my game plan is playing a minimum of 20 games daily except for around two days a week because of school. Watching replays of pro-players, analyzing my own replays need to be integrated in this as well.
So today I really sat down and got to play quite a bit of ladder and in my mindless 20 games I started to really think about what I should be doing to improve my play. Focusing on a few specific things in my play while keeping my mechanics up is my main priority right now. In the games that I was playing I just kind of messed around constantly varying my build over and over dependent on how I was feeling and what I wanted to test out. I think that the quickest and best way to improve is to have a build or two that you stick with in a certain match-up and practice it over and over until you feel comfortable with it. Strats that I believe that I should be sticking with to get better at is:
TvT:
1 rax FE into mech /
1 rax expand into biomech;
TvP:
2Rax pressure into expand
1 rax FE Pressure @ 10 minute mark
TvZ:
1 rax FE into bio play
1 rax FE into Mech
As Day[9] once said, a player who's decent at 100 strats is a decent player, somebody who is good at 2 strats is a good player (or something like that haha).
My problem is that I like very micro intensive openings because I feel that it is very rewarding, so playing standard and not rushing for that banshee or things like that is going to be hard, but I think it is going to be worth it in the long run.
