The CG Band Whole Notes of Liberty Tournament!
The CG Band will be commemorating the end of WoL by having a tournament of our own players.
The Players: Morgoth, AsterBlaster, Marek, (deadFEAR?), ReynoTom, Byder.
The Maps: Daybreak, Cloud Kingdom, Newkirk District, Antiga Shipyard, Akilon Flats
The Format: Pool play into Bracket
Pool play: All players play 1 game against each other to establish rankings. Players can ban 2 maps each from play in this stage.

Quarter-final 1:
Marek vs Byder
Game 1: Newkirk District http://drop.sc/309512
The game opens conservatively with Marek scouting Byder's early bunker and defensive stance. But Byder fakes defence and pushes with a marine force past the scout. Having applied a little pressure, Byder returns to his base and expands as Marek builds up his immortals and expands as well. Byder drops the main a bit later, but loses the dropship after killing 7 workers. Emboldened, Byder pushes the front and is met with stiff resistance! The counter attack by Marek pushes past the tanks and wins.
Game 2: Akilon Flats http://drop.sc/309511
Byder opens with a similar defensive posture, but this time he's hiding a dark secret... a 1-1-1! Marek makes an expansion after one gateway, and Byder's banshees hit just Marek takes a third!! They deal massive damage, but Marek still leads in the workers after the engagement. Marek pushes the front at a rough moment and isn't able to break the siege line and bunkers. Marek does a good job of denying attempts at a third by Byder. Byder starts building vikings to deal with the colossus numbers and sacrifices some banshees to kill colossi. A big engage ends in Byder's favor as the sieging tanks deal massive damage. The final battle is grisly but ends with Byder inching into Marek's natural... GG!
Game 3: Newkirk District http://drop.sc/30950
Byder opens with his newfound favorite, the 1-1-1, but this time bunkers at the front 3 times. This time Marek scouts the banshee pressure with an overseer and cannons deflect the pressure nicely. He chases the banshees while take a third and only loses 7 workers! A viking diversion leads to a fight midmap that Marek cleans up, but the vikings sneak attack at the third. The commitment to immortals proves fatal as a critical mass of Byder's 80 marines plus tanks sweeps through the heavy anti-mech units. Byder comes from behind to take the series.
Semi-Final 1:
Morgoth vs Byder
Game 1: Akilon Flats http://drop.sc/309545
Byder opens defensively with a bunker at the natural expansion ramp, while Morgoth gears up with a sneaky 2-gate into templar archives! Byder fully commits to a 3 bunker defensive posture with expansion while Morgoth takes his first expansion and researches storm. Loading up in a medivac, Byder heads out for some drop action, but is stopped by a clutch warp-in. Both assuming defensive postures, they both take third bases. Byder invests in 4 banshees and moves out with them, but is attacked at the third and forgets about the counter. Back and forth around the planetary the battle rages. Morgoth sees the the tank line has moved and sweeps in for a quick flank and storms through the natural expansion! GG!
Game 2: Newkirk District http://drop.sc/309546
Byder opens with a 1-1-1 while Morgoth secures a 3-gate robo, The dropship from Byder sweeps in just as Morgoth's army moves across the map! Morgoth throws caution to the wind and goes for the basetrade! Immortals push up the ramp and take out an empty bunker. Byder GGs quickly, when behind in supply, but before base trade played out fully. Morgoth takes the series 2-0 and maintains his unbeaten streak!
