Finally, continue improving upon your posting , you should PM mods if you want advice on how to not get on their badside haha, and I'm glad you see the faults in your warnings.

Also as an additional note the 10th one was not a question of mod actions but rather a joke as how it was surprising no one made a sexist comment in that thread. I guess I can see that, but it's very easy to interpret it the other way. On February 01 2013 08:16 docvoc wrote: For your blog, this is how to not get banned like you were

Wait... let me go through my warnings. Let me check the folder "backseat moderating"... it's empty. Oh no wait... there is one file and it reads: Warned for: "This thread is going to be closed. Goodbye thread". So I guess I am guilty. Let me see your folder please.

For example, hitting your children as a parent, most people think its bad, yes? Someone maybe wants to share a opinion about it and he isnt really against hitting your children as a parent and he writes "I hope I dont get banned for sharing my opinion". Because he know people might get pissed (mods included) cause normally people dont like parents hitting children and he might get outright banned just cause the opinion he wants to share. In essence he kind of means "excuse me for sharing my opinion...." But alas he gets banned just cause he wrote those little words and not actually because his opinion. I know its classed as "martying" but really, people can still post great just after writing those words and end up with a ban just cause its "martyring". Then other people can throw out hefty insult or a really bad post and it ends with them getting a simple warning. EVEN THOUGH their post in itself was way worse than the post the guy with the "I hope I dont get banned for sharing my opininon" did. "Martyring" is super strictly moderated and ends up with bans simply cause; "martyring", and sometimes its pretty fucked up really. Mods could maybe look a little deeper and look at the actual post instead of; OMFG MARTYING INSTANT BAN, cause thats how I feel the reaction is regarding "martying".

But here we go. 1st post - Harsh, but not really inaccurate. 2nd - Kind of a legitimate question due to his tangent, and in the ABL thread, which is probably a less moderated thread. 3rd - Again, ABL thread so it comes off as a joke, at least to me. 4th - Unlike being a dick, spamming isn't subjective. Warning is pretty much an automatic response. 5th - Could have gone either way really. I must have been in a good mood that day(I'm pretty sure I handled that). 6th - Another that could go either way. 7th - That must of not been reported because the last part isn't acceptable and I would have banned. 8th - Another that could go either way. But it's not malicious(or at least not obviously so considering this revelation) and so I decided to warn. 9th - Borderline. But saying anything should be nerfed, let alone an entire race, is an easy target. 10th - Not so sure why you're surprised here. Questioning mod actions outside website feedback is backseat modding and with your history(which was said in the reason) it was time for a ban. I'll agree that you could have gotten banned earlier, but I think it's just luck that you didn't. I know I handled a few of those reports, so maybe it's a hint I need to be less merciful yeah, i remember when i backseated once and got tempbanned. was like a really heated flame/bash war between two ppl and i asked why they weren't banned yet. insta-temp ban. i dont know how bad your post has to be for a warning/ban nowadays because i rarely do anything stupid in my posts. but i see a lot of high post count people posting like one liner stuff that is pretty much useless to the thread and they never get warned or banned. ive always wanted to do that as well but i think that its like cause they are really high in posts. thoughts?

Yeah I shouldnt maybe say to much, though those times I've seen it moderated it has almost always been banned for (lurked alot before I made the account). Multiple people even wondered and were against the ban cause they thought it was stupid to ban simply cause martyring, but yeah I ofcourse havent seen all martyring cases so I dunno....

See, that's what I don't get though. A regular poster should know about how martyring is being moderated. If you still choose to go for "I'm probably going to be banned for this.." then that's asking for it.
