Which season are you referring to?

ah found it

Ironically, that was the season that not only MVP was eliminated, but also Nestea bombed out of his group.

I found my first sig-quote. Thanks.

It also has the advantage of never being out of date.

That was such a depressing season for an IM fan. But I do love GuMiHo and DRG so it was okay after all.
TL Mafia. Love it. Play it. http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/index.php?show_part=31 I find Kennigit really attractive. If anyone has a picture of him please feel free to PM it to me.

Do you have a mole in these team houses eavesdropping or something?

For those who didn't know, the author was hyping Life up 8 months ago.

I watch and I learn. Also, I drew up a heuristic model of talent evaluation and it judged players like Creator, Life, and Symbol would be the next big names.

All of the picks were reasonable (though perhaps not prime picks) except Soulkey's. I have a theory for him.

I think he believes that he'll be in Code S Ro16s many more times in the future. However, he probably doesn't believe that this is his season yet. So maybe he's wasting this season to set himself up for the future. If he gets known as the guy who will create groups of death by picking one of the toughest opponents, would you pick Soulkey first? Probably not. Instead, the next time he makes Ro16, people are going to shy away from him because they don't want the group of death. So even if his skill makes him a 1st round pick, he'll probably get left until late round 2 or even sneak into round 3... thus getting an easier group in the future.

Alternative explanation: his coach picked up something exploitable in Leenock's play and we'll see it come out if Soulkey gets to play Leenock.
Playing better than standard requires deviation. This divergence usually results in sub-standard play.

When MKP is your voice of reason in a group nomination... you are in trouble

Creator beating DRG was somewhat expected. Creator has had DRG's number for quite some time. Ryung making it through...ROFL. Who would've thunk it? Did Curious and DRG play terribly or was Ryung engaged in God-mode?

Wow I got spotlighted!

Well Ryung has proved he's one of the best late game TvZer on big maps, he might be the best lategame player overall in term of army movements and people played in his hands with map picks. Add some awesome timings (g1 vs Curious) and cheeses and you got what's needed to get trough. With only 1P Ryung is imo a good dark horse considering he's probably the best TvTer left and his TvZ looks really promising.
Zest fanboy.

I would never use Elo to judge anything about a player's potential. >_>
