Surprisingly topping his group and winning against MaNa and DeathAngel. The Czech player was definitely the biggest surprise today.
Did you think you could pass this group before coming here ?
When i saw my group i though i could get through, but i had to prepare for DeathAngel. I prepared the games with my team mate and i prepared some mind games, used them and won the match. Then the match against Mana i got pretty lucky
Yeah i heard you cheesed DeathAngel and shouted very loud whereas he was near you, not very manner but i can understand because you were really happy to win.
First game we sent both baneling all in and i macroed it better so i won. Second map we both went double upgrade ling, after a back and forth game he won it with zergling runby into my main. Third game i went 10pool and he went hatch first so it was build order win.
Against MaNa you won again despite his famous PvZ. Can you walk us through the games ?
First game i went muta but he scouted it and opened stargate, he then went for a 8 gates and won it from there. Second game i faked muta and let him scout it, i built a baneling nest and busted him to the win. Last game he did some weird build, high templar and stalkers but i had infestor, so i built broodlord and won.
Lots of mind games from you, is it your favorite style ?
It is easier for me because i know them and nobody knows me so it is easier for me to play mindgames.
NDLR : When i asked him for an interview he asked me if i could find Stephano because he wanted an autograph He is a really sweet guy
Quantic Hawk
HawK toped his group in a convincing fashion, 2-0ing DIMAGA and loosing only one game to the Japanese player PSiArc.
How was your group ?
The games were pretty easy, because i had to play Dimaga in a mirror match up and it my best mach up and Dimaga is probably better at ZvP or ZvT.
What did you think of the Japanese player PSiArc ?
I mean i lost a game but i don't think he was that good. He was kinda mediocre. The game i lost i did an all-in because of the meta-game but because he doesn't follow it he hard-countered it. The two other game were standard and not close at all.
And the South African player PandaTank ?
In our games he showed that he could become a really good player, his builds are really strong but seems not refined enough. There is quite a bit of work for him to do on that and his decision making but given enough time, i'd say 3 or 4 month, he could definitely be a top player.
You will be facing the french player NeOAnGeL in the Round of 8, what do you know about him ?
I watched him play in the french final and…i think he's bad. I'm just honest here, i don't think he was good, he does a lot of weird things in the openings that leaves him behind and the only thing was that the zerg player didn't abused it. If you know what to do you should be able to secure the game in the first 7minutes.
I know you like focus on the task at hand at tournament and not really anticipating the future.
I don't really care who i play next. I just focus on the game at thand, i don't even care if i loose the first game. I think that's the right mindset in a tournament because if you worry to much about the qualification you are going to play to safe whereas you should be thinking "how can i get ahead ? how can i be more greedy ?" all the time in order to win
You might face Squirtle in the tournament, do you think you have a chance here ?
I heard he is sick and jet lagged, and PvZ is not his best match up, so if everything goes my way i might have a chance !
