The deleting of old blogs has been something I started quite a while ago when I first got the idea of creating a book. If I referenced or rewrote old stories I wanted them to be fresh and forgotten. And those who have been following my blog would get some sort of nostalgia feeling when reading old stories. Silly, I know.

Meaning that those who have read and enjoyed previous stories would be more likely to read my book if they knew old stories I deleted were in the book.

Amateur marketing scheme.

Watch out... I tried putting my blogs into a published book... I got sued by TL.

I am not a volunteer staff; I am an indentured servant! 2 more years and I am free~

All my blogs were written as I remembered it. So if I was writing about a call I was on two years ago, I wrote it as remembered, in the first tense.

It's fun and exciting for people not involved in the health care field to read first hand stories of experiences with patients. And I found early on that the topic of helping others was inspirational and touching to the general TL population.

I now see my intentions were skewed, and I apologize to any and all who feel as if they wasted their time reading one of my blogs.

I do intend to continue writing stories. Although I hope they are read "as is". My blogs are not a continued story, they are all individual stories. I've ran 1000's of calls, but choose to write on only a dozen. I sincerely apologize if those dozen are not in order, or do not relate to each other.

Don't be disheartened by people being sceptical in this thread, it's human nature, and in no way does it take away from you.
even if you do, on a fundamental level, save peoples lives, and write these blogs so you can make yourself feel good, who cares? almost EVERYTHING humans do is selfish, and selfless acts are extremely rare. you're doing a great thing not many people do, and your blogs are still awesome to read!

Keep it up Snet.
Just break the rules, and you see the truth.

I think that Snet still could of been clearer in writing, just to avoid this confusion all together, but now that it's been explained it seems fine.

Ok I guess I understand now, yes it could have been clearer, if and when you ever do that book don't follow the "I love collecting paychecks for my job" chapter with "Loving life working for free." one.

Snet still my hero.

Hey man attention whores are bad news. Guys who lie and tell fictional stories about their life are almost as untrustworthy as guys who lie about their name and pretend to be a pro sc2 player when they're not.

Nice story. Also do volunteer work as paramedic..get 30 euro for 10-12 hour shift, 40 euro if its a night shift.. but this would often be non-urgent transport..will be doing a course now so i can get to do the high priority things (in belgium its called alpha1, alpha2, etc)....but 1000 hours...thats alot, i know you get alot in return for doing work like this... but i couldnt do it. Respect to you sir.

Also ignore all the sherlocks..

To respond to some people, it is certainly possible to like to get paid and to enjoy volunteer work. I've done both as an educator and they certainly give you a different feeling.

The time management is what raises my eyebrows, a thousand hours of volunteer a year, plus hundreds upon hundreds of work hours, plus medic school (this is a pretty huge commitment up here in Canada).... Plus laddering time

SNET, any chance you can pop into your last blog post and answer my questions... As a fellow EMT, I always love learning about how other services roll.

ALSO are any EMS workers out there interested in a patch trade?

Your blog in general is too attentionwhory for my taste... saving lives isn't bigger in my book than baking bread, changing tires or fixing plumbing leaks.

I mean, you could be just loving your job so much that you can't help but share the overwhelming feelings, but I get the feeling that you want praise from people too much and it irks me. But what you're doing is commendable regardless whether you are looking for being commended or not.

I don't usually get involved in iffy matters like this.

But I'll have you know that people like myself truly appreciate reading blogs like these. They provide perspective to a world unknown to myself.

Just leave if you don't like it.

I read this instance of the blog just to see if something's changed from the last time. I don't regularly read it. I will not persist in being 'negative', I just shared my opinion. I'm still uncertain whether I should share feedback to people if it's a negative one. Some say don't say anything if it's not nice, some like to hear all opinions.

KEep owning it up sNET, I love my life as well, and I never work, and I probably have 60.000 hours not working, and I'm hoping to reach at least 100.000 before I die

The amount of crap in this comment section really makes me feel bad. Why do people have to make a conspiracy of everything. I know taking things at face value isn't a great idea but sometimes I wish people just would. I personally try to be what I am at face value and I take everybody else that way. Why do people insist that there is some back story? Life is complicated enough already.

I enjoy reading your blogs Snet. Hope this doesn't effect your willingness to blog. Thanks for posting.
