However, in Snet's case, we have someone who is as close to a hero as a real person can be. As such, our guard is initially a lot higher when we read his blogs. But over time, as we read his blogs, we let down our columbo like instincts and thoroughly and wholeheartedly start rooting for Snet. We become inspired by his life, reborn from his philosophies, and moved to higher emotions through his stories. So when we receive information that contradicts all these emotions it crushes us. It seems to tell us that what we believed in was all along a sham. That stories like Snet's don't belong in this world, and are in fact, just stories. And the small part of us that all along can't believe what we're reading, is suddenly given credit. It is because of this that we lash out. We feel hurt and betrayed. We gave hope to something wonderful existing and our hope was returned with scorn. Even with Snet's explanation, I don't think many of us will be able to recover fully. I myself fall into that group. I was always on the fence. Whether or not to believe Snet and his stories. Maybe he's telling the truth, maybe he's not, but I for one am not going to spend any more time reading his blogs. Also I just re-read this. It seems like I'm speaking for those who never asked to be spoken for. That's not what my intention is. It's just how I saw this going down. | ||
