Years ago, a friend of mine visited Canada. He brought home some spare currency and I nicked a quarter that caught my eye. On one side, it has a moose, on the other Elizabeth II on it.

Hey guys,
this is definitely not a girl blog, but it's about a "date" I had.
I went to the cinema with a girl, who had suggested we "do something sometime".
Usually, watching a movie together is a really lame choice for any date, but I didn't particularly enjoy her company, so I suggested we catch a movie.
She is pretty to look at, but she's kind of dull and utterly uninteresting, the kind of person who has no passion about anything, who despises anything that is remotely "nerdy" or "artsy" or - I kid you not - "booky". Half out of spite, half out of wanting to see the kick-ass movie again, I decided we watch "The Dark Knight Rises", and I was amazed she didn't object. Not that she had much of a choice, since the cinema I brought her to is quite tiny and only one movie plays at any given time.
So there we were, in the ticket line, and the oversized shirt of the chubby ticket-selling lady.
Maybe you've seen it around, Sean Bean as Eddard Stark sitting on the Iron Throne, holding his Valyrian great sword Ice.
When it was our turn to get the tickets, I took out my wallet and realized I had forgotten to go to the ATM to get some cash, so all I had with me was like 2 Euro, and ... a Canadian quarter.
Despite not liking my "date" very much, I didn't want to "lose face", so I decided to take a gamble.
Moose upwards, I slapped the Canadian quarter onto the counter, looked the ticket-lady in the eye and said with all the confidence I could muster:
"Valar Morghulis."
She seemed puzzled for a second, then comprehended what I was up to.
"Valar Dohaeris", she replied and gave me two tickets.
I felt really awesome and mysterious and she was visibly awed for awhile as well.
During the previews, however, she asked me if what had transpired was "something nerdy" and her awe turned to disgust really quickly, no doubt thinking I could speak Clingon.
Our "date" went downhill from there. She texted the entire time during the movie, didn't pay attention to anything, I could virtually feel her roll her eyes whenever anything remotely badass happened and even Hans Zimmer didn't seem to impress her. After the movie, I went home and she went to some club.
Needles to say, I did get laid that night and I even got back my quarter.

Well, asshole might be excessive, but I think a bit a self reflection on your tastes (which are kinda nerdy, admit it^^) and the way you acted might do you some good. Seems like you took my remark well, so eeverything's allright =)

So how did you actually get into the situation where she suggested you go on a date? It sounds like you come from very different places... is she in your class at school/college? A work colleague?

Yeah I agree, fashion is way closer to music movies and litterature than sports.
