So day 2 has come to an end, i would like to write this review so people havent been able to keep track with DotA2TI has a chance to understand what is happening with all the team.
Teams are devised into 2 group of 8 teams. Each team has to play 7 bo2 against other teams in their group which make it 14 games for each team representing 14 points. At the end of the round. top 4 of each group advance to Winner bracket and bottom 4 advance to loser bracket. The advantage of winner bracket is every series is bo3 instead of bo1 like loser bracket and as we know, bo1 is much more unstable in dota.
Start out with group A:
+Safe tier: LGD and DK blaze through the group, secure their spots in the winner bracket. Tomorrow Their 2 last games are with mouz and M5, two, arguably, worst team in TI2 in term of performance so far. These games will be pretty much meaning less and we will see them try to hide their strats for the play off as there is no seeding.
+Danger tier: Zenith, CLG, AL, EG will be playing the biggest games of their life tomorrow. 2 tickets for the winner bracket only. Zenith vs AL will be weigh much lighter than EG vs CLG as Zenith only needs to win 1 game tomorrow to secure at least a tie breaker game. Mean while, AL is on the verge of dropping down to loser bracket. Their only hope is for a tie between EG and CLG while winning 2-0 vs Zenith. Willing to execute cheese strategies vs DK and almost succeed, could AL actually make it this time? Can Musica prove to the Singaporean team that he is the true successor of the SEA dota line? What about EG and CLG, the contenders for the 4th spot of group A are extremely equal in term of skill... will Demon become the true evil genius and pull off some magic as EG vs Zenith yesterday or CLG gona pull another Miracle? This is also a huge test of faith as we know CLG member has mostly played under the EG flag for a short period of time. Teammates, friends, 1 million dollars, the story just keep getting better.
+Laid off tier: Nothing to lose, Mouz and M5 are just chilling and have fun. They are definitely teams to watch if you want some exciting doto with crazy picks, crazy gank and crazy PGG black hole. Going against the chinese, will they prove that Russian no ward doto is better than china men force? "Vodka + tatical penis" going up against "no fun allowed", more action, more items drop.
Prediction:
LGD 2-0 mouz
DK 2-0 M5
Zenith 2-0 AL
EG 1-1 CLG (Tie breaker CLG > EG)
LGD, DK, Zenith, CLG advance
AL M5 mouz EG to loser bracket
Group B:
When group came out, everyone can see the starkness of group B immediately... Sickening, the result is even closer than we though.
+Tier iG: iG pretty much out class every team so far. Coming into TI2 they are the team to beat. 5 men all star, iG represent the very best of Chinese asian dota as they blast through everyone. Only drop 1 game to their friends from EHOME, everyone buying iG pennant expecting a great grand final.
+Tier 5 way tie: how? well shit... starting of with the Malaysian powerhouse Orange. The return of Yamateh and Mushi to the DotA world clearly have yet made a huge impact. Raped navi like common pub, they then proceed to put up a great fight with iG, not enough to take points off the chinese power house but definitely force iG to went all out after an intensive game 1. Can they keep up this performance and beat EHOME, the 2nd place team in TI1? Remember, EHOME so far has show nothing but great power. Being the only team that has taken a game off iG, longdd and friends will go all out tomorrow and make sure they could secure a spot in winner bracket, completing the China's quota no loser bracket before play off.
Next of we have CoL, the only western team has beaten a chinese team so far. What ever magic fluff pulling out of his afro, it is working: Potm, visage, TA... TC and Jeyo are on FIRE(c wut i did thar?). Their oponent, darer should be an easy piece of cake. ArtStyle has a lot to prove that his team deserved a TI invitation as darer proceed to the loser bracket.
Last but not least, Navi vs TongFu will be a match to catch for all our Russian-speaking viewers. Navi has shown that they are the king of western dota but their strat were not so effective against most of the asian team they face. Coming into TI2 as the returning champion, last thing they wana see is themselves in loser bracket. Tong Fu is the best opponent Navi could have wished for as they have been shaken by CoL.
+tier dreamhack champion: Clearly the huge break after bootcamp didnt pay off for mTw. The momentum after dreamhack has completely disappeared at the European meet up WCG and the french are trying to slowly recover what they have lost. Could they do it and blaze through the loser bracket?
Prediction:
iG 2-0 mTw
Navi 0-2 TF
Ehome 1-1 Orange (Orange > Ehome tiebreak)
CoL 1-1 darer
Winner: iG, TF, Orange, CoL
Loser: Navi Darer mTw EHOME.
