My uncle has started teaching me how to drive, and everything is alright so far. Haven't been pulled over, died, hit anything , etc. Its just that after focusing 100% for about 2-3 hours driving, I start to fuck up alot. Like not recognizing when I can make a right turn without waiting , parking really terribly, or forgetting to signal sometimes.

Is this normal? Any tips or words of advice?

Listen, if a 70 year old grandma can get around just about anywhere, you can too.

It gets a lot easier, like second nature. The only way to get better is to just drive a lot. Get over the anxiety you might feel when driving. Whenever you go anywhere with your mom, dad, or uncle, ask to drive the car, do it carefully, and listen to what they have to say.
You should not have to pay to watch the GSL, Proleague, or OSL at a reasonable time. That is not "fine" and it's BS to say otherwise. My sig since 2011. http://www.youtube.com/user/dabom88

It is, however, extremely tedious once you're alright at it. I hate driving.

It takes a long time to get used to, don't worry about it. There's a reason most states require 50+ hours of practice before you're allowed to drive alone. Once you've done it enough, you don't even think about things like signaling and looking ahead to see if you can turn and stuff.

My advice is not to drive with neurotic passengers E.G. parents.

Anyone who is pressing down an invisible break pedal in the passenger seat needs to go. Don't let anyone make you nervous/self conscious about your driving. It's hard enough when you're starting out.

Just gotta use apm well. Need good minimap awareness (checking mirrors, lights), good gamesense about lane changes in crowded freeway and whatnot, decent macro (maintaining a useable car), and good micro for the acutal driving. Don't forget you need to maintain all 4 to become a masters/A rank driver! But don't try and pull some grandmaster shit either.

But ya, it does get easier.

I assume since you're from America you're driving an automatic, and so in answer to your question, be happy you're not driving a manual.

its easy as shit - once you get alright dont forget to use your goddamn turn signals ... most annoying thing is to have people just merge or fucking turn without a signal.

Just keep going and eventually it's like riding a bike. You can just kind of feel how to do it.

As you get more experienced I find your ability to drive well for many hours in a day or well into the night gets better.

A few days ago I did a 500+ mile drive into a fairly desolate area, getting there at like 1:30am. Didn't have a big problem.... however that wouldn't have been true the first few years after I started driving.

Driving will become natural after a while, don't worry

As everyone else has said, it just takes constant practice so that you become more comfortable behind the wheel of a vehicle!

oh god yes, to get any excitement out of driving you have to start pushing towards the limits of your (and your cars) capabilities :/ and then when you can cruise at your cars limits it just gets to be one of the most boring time wasting activities to you

until you get a motorcycle - which is why i want one lol, those things never get boring (though you do trade safety for that)

Driving is a lot of minor things that you have to pay attention to when you're first learning, but these become a LOT easier after awhile. You get used to how things generally should work, so you don't have to consciously worry about things like checking your mirrors every 5 seconds or something. Nowadays, having just 4 years of experience and about 70k miles (I'm in CA, US), I can more often than not tell when someone's in my blind spot (a kind of suspicion that there's another car around but I don't see it in my mirrors), or when someone wants to switch lanes (driving "body language", they clearly want to switch but don't want to let someone block them by using a turn signal), just from experience.

So don't worry about it too much. Stay to safer areas (slower speed limit, less cars, etc.) until you're more comfortable, if you're truly concerned. But this is definitely something that gets easier with experience.

Like everyone else said it is something that will get better with time. I just hope that whoever is teaching you to drive doesn't stress you out or yell a lot. To this day I've never gotten in an accident or gotten a ticket but I can still get stressed out and do some weird stuff if someone is back seat driving

Driving is much easier when you got your license and don't have to have the pressure of anyone in the car with you. I thought I would never be able to drive now I have 5+ years of experience as a commuter.

It's gets old quick, so enjoy it while you can!

It's like anything else, the more you do it the more you will feel comftorable with it. Personally, I fucking hate driving. People around here can't drive for shit so I try to limit the amount of time I have to spend in a car.

It gets A LOT easier. I used to make a lot of mistakes I now look at and say "WTF what a noob". It becomes a second nature, riding your car is like wearing a perfectly fitting piece of clothing or something similar, it just works automatically. You not only learn better multitasking and awareness, but in time you also learn your weak spots and how to drive despite having them.

Now this...

Is fucking great advice. Passengers can really affect the way a person drives. I normally don't have any problems but I like a passenger that: 1) Will speak to me, about anything. 2) Won't rub it in my face if I make a minor mistake 3) Isn't excessively obsessive about ridiculous stuff.

Once I had to shut a friend up in a very rude way but he was making me really nervous with all his bitching and the most important thing in the car is that the driver is comfortable, not that the passenger has his every little quirk satisfied. Keep that in mind and pick your front passenger carefully. I also had to shut him up a time he was playing the "let's shout LOOK OUT!!!" game when I had just begun driving, god he's a terrible passenger.

Another thing, remember there's a blind spot in the side rear view mirrors, so don't be surprised if you get called out for not seeing a car while trying to change lanes, it's one more reason to pay a lot of attention.

And relax, eventually you'll be so used to driving you'll be chatting about anything without missing anything on the street and without getting nervous. Just never get in the habit of texting or phoning while driving, that's just dangerous.

Easier: no
Comfortable: Yes
Over time you'll get used to driving but it is never easier because OTHER drivesr make it hard for you.
