He's 17 years old but they're charging him as an adult apparently D:

Why would you do that though...I mean a pizza delivery guy...come on... not to mention pellet guns not only are stupid (like someone mentioned, going to get him a lot of street cred >__>) but also appear to be real freaking guns. wtf. I feel really bad for his family

Nah I get what you're saying to a degree and it goes with what silentness said, which ties directly to a lot of black kids growing up in real shit ass, economically depressed ghettos with no way out. it's a nasty cycle.

But at 17 years old, you're certainly aware of your actions and the consequences. You know damn well what can happen when you go robbing someone with a fake gun.

And if your (im assuming) single parent has enough income to physically move you to a better area to get you away from trouble, putting you in a better opportunity, it's not really something you can chalk up to 'kid in the ghetto with no support and no way out'

shit if there's anyone to feel bad for, it's her. probably busting her ass to give him a better shot and he does that.

To put yourself in the kid's shoes ... he got moved from a nasty part of MD to an upper-middle class part. Some people just don't think straight and they dream up some scheme like this to have some pocket money because all their friends do, you need money to take a girl on a date, etc. etc. Probably felt too busy with sports to try taking on a job and so there's that shortcut ... what a shame. He didn't expect the heat to come down on him so hard because in a rough area stuff like this is investigated, but it's not top priority. In a nicer part they want to make an example of him.

Charging a high school kid as an adult for robbing pizza guys with a pellet gun is just idiotic.
