How much do game designers earn?

rei United States3593 Posts August 11 2012 16:21 GMT #1 I am going to have an interview for an assistant game designer job, it's located in Irvine CA. On the application, it asks me how much salary i request, and they told me I must place a number in there, "Open to negotiation" is not acceptable. I did some google search and it says somewhere around 39000 a year on those job websites. Anyone here in TL community can help me with that?

Like if you work for Blizzard I would guess you would earn a lot more than if you work for a smaller company? Is there a game designers union? A question, how big is the company? May be important for people to be able to give you good advice. And it best to write in a lower amount than avg. if you aren't a known name, not by much though, cause then you would seem all to pro.

eXigent. Canada2419 Posts August 11 2012 18:59 GMT #4 is that 39,000 gross? or net? I hate jobs that tell you to enter the salary. Its like they are trying to force you to lowball how much you wanna make. How the fuck are you suppose to know what your salary should be lol.
