I am writing this blog because I have come to despise Day[9].
The reason is because in his most recent Funday Monday he said how he hates classic rock. He went on to bash one of my favorite songs, Free Falling. Now, I'm okay with people not liking classic rock, but in one of his previous dailies he said how he likes and respects Justin Beiber.
Everyone has their own taste in music, but to bash on classic rock after saying how he likes Justin Beiber earlier was just painful to hear. I still find Day[9] hilarious and very handsome (thats not weird coming from a guy, is it? ). I just can't respect him in the same way I used to anymore.
EDIT: I meant this to be as a joke guys, I do respect Day[9]. Sorry that it didn't come out that way to most of you guys.
Dude...I think you've lost my respect. If you can't understand that different people of different back grounds have grown to appreciate different styles of music, then there is something wrong with you...

Lol, this blog was more of a joke. I don't actually hate him for having different tastes. O.o

Just in case this blog wasn't meant as a joke: I think you are the one who needs to respect Day9 more. So what if he doesn't like what you like and lets people know about it? It's his show and you are free to come or leave. In fact, I would respect him less if he compromised his opinions and beliefs just to pander to a wider audience.
If you make a joke topic on teamliquid, you need to make it VERY obvious. People on this forum take everything much too seriously and even if you say in bold that it is a joke at the top of the thread you will still get people taking it seriously.

Alright, I'll keep that in mind for now on. Thanks

No one genre should be 'above' other genres...I see everyone that HAVEN'T actually written papers and analyzed the history of music bash the shit out of other genres when they have no clue what they're evaluating anything on lols...
classic rock is awesome, tom petty is shit bro. out of all the songs ever written u pick free falling? and not something along the lines of baba oriley? hey its your life bro
I think your joke post fails when you have to add something like "it's really a joke guys, don't hate me" and when you seem terrified to death of offending anyone. You should stand behind what you write or don't post it, I say.
If people would just realize that Justin Bieber is an idol for pre-puberty girls and therefore needs not be a subject of adult conversation then hopefully people will stop caring about his popularity though.

For me, I find those stories hilarious. I don't think most people watch Day9 to learn SCII anymore
Wtf? I had no idea bieber sang that song. He sounds so different from the only song I know of his which was Baby.
But yeah, bieber seems pretty genuine. Not sure what he's done to accrue hate besides be popular.
I actually specifically picked out my favorite song of his. I think originally a lot of people thought of him as phony or whatever, but really he's not any more or less fake than the rest of the music industry. The guy's just a musician, and his "look" was very boyish and popular among young girls. I think now as he's growing up he's trying to become a different kind of pop musician. I'll wait to see where he goes before I pass judgment on him though.

What the hell are you smoking? Stop making me feel older.
Hint: If it came out in the 90s, it's not bloody "classic rock". You want Classic Rock? Try looking a bit further back.
SKYNYRD MANG! FREEEEEE BIRD!
The only reason I picked Free Falling is because thats what Day[9] used as an example, and it happens to be one of my favorite songs. I still love Skynyrd/Van Halen/ACDC/Zeppelin etc.

Day[9] thinks Free Falling is classic rock? ;_; suddenly I think I understand you, Rudolph.
