Depends on your priorities. I'm 28 now and have an 8 week old baby daughter and a wife to support so that's where my motivation is now. Just saying, the game industry is TOUGH so don't be discouraged if you have trouble getting into it - and go in to it understanding the risks.

Be sure to look at the nutrient facts of everything, sometimes a food might be bad for you even if it doesn't taste that way. I think the dressing of the salad counter balances the healthiness of the salad itself. Calories in, calories out.. It might not be healthy, but it wont make you fat if you eat sensibly.

I know many people that have been offered jobs or taken jobs in Alberta because of the pay and benefits, but it's precisely because of the surrounding conditions; personally, not something I'd be interested in. Those businesses and jobs have to pay way above the average for that very reason. My dad was offered $120,000/year + fully paid living expenses to go work in Whitehorse (he's an accountant/controller). Something that, depending on the industry/company, generally pays anywhere from $60-100k in Ontario depending on scope and personal experience. Hey Whitehorse is pretty great He's missing out. For reference, wages are extremely high here. I make $25/h working commissioned electronics retail.

McDonalds isnt that bad for a job.. The conditions are humane and they do give raises.. and free food is always good. If you're responsible you won't eat terrible every shift, but it would be nice to have some choice of course. I'm sure 7.00 means anything in the store. That isn't a bad idea for mcdonalds.. basically giving an hour of pay for a lunch break at minimum wage instead of paying you 8.00 + for an hour But some places just offer discounts, or like a restaurant i worked at before, no discount at all I know a lot of people in your situation.. around your age and out of college with no job atm

McDonald's isn't the worst place to work, but far from the best. The more I got to know about my manager friends, the more I realized how priveledged I am, some of them make only slightly more than the typical crew member. Have fun while you're there, your enjoyment is really dependent on the other employees there
