So.. a little while ago i won a mousepad in this competition (scroll down and you'll see Ajaco).
I was like yay, I won an EG mousepad. Thats pretty cool. The one with the EG logo on it. That way I will have both the Liquid and the EG mat. One mat for each of my favourite team. One to use when I feel evil, and one when I feel good (lol).
So last week I got a phonecall from a guy, saying they wanted to deliver me a package. I figured this was the EG mousemat, as I was expecting it to come. And I was right. It was the mousepad that I had won.
So it got delivered to me at work today, and I just got home to open it up, to have a look at it. And well... I was disapointed. Expecting an EG mousepad to be in the package, I open it up and see a steelseries package. So i open that one up... and the mousepad... It was just one of those standard black Steelseries mousepads. Not the EG one.
I was expecting to get this mousepad. That one is supposed to be 450*400*4.
I got this one. That one is 320*270*2 mm. So its smaller, thinner, and doesn't have an EG logo on it.
That kinda suck. The prize pool had a picture of the EG mat. It states QcK+. I got one without the logo, and just the standard QcK version.
So yeah.. that kinda sucked.
Anyone want a free mousepad? I'm never going to use this one.

I dont know. Even so, that would be enough to get the EG mousepad ^^ The one i got is like $10 cheaper, and it needs to be shipped all the way to norway (which is like... probably more than $10). So unless they have a retail store in norway which accepts (opened) gear for new one, I dont think there's much I can do.
I'll try to send them an email to check if this was simply a mix-up, or if it was intentional to mislead the participants (not that they would formulate it like that, but yeah, you know what I mean)

Ya just email them. Mistakes happen all the time and i highly doubt steel series would intentionally go out their way to screw you out of $10.

Sent them an email now  Waiting for the reply. Hopefully I'll end up getting the EG mousepad! Me want :D

Both yes and no.
No, there's no need to buy a new mousepad every month because the old one doesn't work anymore. I mean.. it kinda hard to destroy a mat (at least the cloth ones. The plastic ones tend to get all polished and shit, so they need to be swapped regularely). That being said, new mats tend to have better 'glide' (not that this matters too much).
It's more the sentimental value of having an EG mat. Having a Liquid one and an EG one. Eventually I'll try to get a SlayerS one as well. Just because I like the brands, and what they do. Just like a poster isnt that big of a deal, considering it's just a piece of paper, and there really aren't any need to replace them.
A nerd like me having cool stuff like that Thats why it's important.

It definitely matters for me, it's nice to have a decent one, makes everything feel more smooth. The one I have been using for a couple of years works great, was about 20 bucks.

Those pads are so good, I have a QcK+ (same as the one you want) except it has the fnatic logo. You have something to look forward too

Usually if stock runs out they tell you and apologize, might send some stickers or similar as compensation or wait until the originally intended price is back in stock.
This seems like a mix-up, just send an email to whoever contacted you for the contest and explain the situation, i'm sure you'll get one with an EG-logo.
