Good laptops to buy?

I spent some time doing research and I still will be, but I figured it wouldn't hurt to get specific advice.
I'm looking to spend about $1,200 on a laptop. Ideally I would like to be able to run Sc2 on high-ultra with 60fps with stability... But I have no idea at all how possible that is with this budget. The budget is more important than the aforementioned goal though.
So in terms of importance to me, in order:
Price (between $1,000 and $1,200)
Reliability.. The worst thing in my opinion would be to have a laptop that has overheating problems. I just don't want to worry about that. I get too distracted by worrying about if I am taking care of my computer parts
Ability to run sc2
Soo... suggestions?

You are probably gonna have to tell more than that. For instance size? Weight? Does it matter? What other tasks does this laptop have to perform.

I love my Asus G73-- they're amazing, and the new updated G series are even better (this one is a year and a half old), it's essentially a portable desktop. So much power, and use a 24" LED monitor, razer BWU, and razer naga, so I lose very little compared to a desktop.

It doesn't really matter. I have a laptop I'm issued for school, so size and weight don't really matter too much as I will just be taking this one with me when I go to lan parties on the weekends. I'd much much rather have a large, heavy, ultrareliable laptop than a small, slick one, if that's the tradeoff.
The most demanding things I'm going to do with it are sc2 and league of legends, I just want it to be able to do those 2 things really really well.

All I meant was that if the size and weight doesn't matter to you, it still matters to those trying to help you, because now they know what they should look for (which is probably an Asus gamer pc or an msi or some similar big ass laptop)

1200 is too high. A laptop for your needs is somewhere around 500-600$.

Don't fall in to the common trap of overpaying for laptops.

If you want to buy one right now within your budget, I found this one on newegg:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834152349

However, it is complete and utter overkill for running sc2 and LoL. I would probably aim for a sub 900 laptop. There currently isn't any super good deals on newegg, but they change their stock every day so I would keep checking back. I bought a new laptop last week. It was an ASUS with 1st gen i7 and a 460m for 850, which is pretty overkill for sc2 and lol as well.

Here is a search filter you can use:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=Property&Subcategory=32&Description=&Type=&N=100006740&IsNodeId=1&IsPowerSearch=1&srchInDesc=&MinPrice=&MaxPrice=900&Manufactory=1312&Manufactory=1315&PropertyCodeValue=393:53928&PropertyCodeValue=393:49576&PropertyCodeValue=2923:18470

Search up the graphics card on notebookcheck.net and it will tell you the fps you will get on sc2.

Ok, so I've come to a crossroad between two choices.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834214493

and

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834214604

I'm not concerned about the price difference between the two of them. (I actually don't pay to do anything other than buy gas and eat, and I work a full time job, so I allow myself these opportunities to spoil myself regardless of whether or not it is the smart thing to do)
The only real difference I'm looking at is the processor vs video card. The cheaper one has a videocard that apparently runs Starcraft 2 at 150% the FPS of the other one. But the processor on the other one is about twice as fast as the processor on the cheaper one. Assuming all I will be doing is gaming, should I go for the computer with the better processor or videocard?

EDIT: actually, nevermind, I became settled once I read what one of the reviewers had to say about playing starcraft 2 on that laptop. I'm settled on the cheaper one.

Try posting in the tech support forum. I think you should buy a desktop though along with a cheap laptop. Gaming laptops are a huge waste of money in my opinion.

The Msi that charimanray linked would work. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834152349 this would probably give you SC2 on high reasonable, maybe maybe ultra. Notebookcheck has it at 42FPS on ultra, so you might want to stick to high. (it being a GTX660M)

500$ is definitely not enough to run SC2 on high-ultra. The GTX660M might manage it.

Don't get a toshiba. Both of those options are worse than the MSI, AND toshiba support sucks. The exact opposite of reliability. And I would never put HP and reliable in the same sentence, at least not with their dv lines. I know some people like HP, but in general, their dv line packs a lot of hardware into a shoddy chassis to cut prices and look attractive on paper.

Edit: If you've already ordered the toshiba, I would cancel. Like I said, Toshiba sucks for tech support, and their build quality is meh. MSI is much better. You can also look at the Asus G75/55 for around that price, you should find something you like. Both are miles better than Toshiba. The Lenovo Y580 is also a much better choice than Toshiba even. Toshiba so bad >:O

MSI notebook
Lenovo Y580 Notebook

Easy to find are the two best options at 1200$. Both will be significantly better than either toshiba. For less than 1200$, go to here and customize this laptop. Or go back to the main page of the website and select any price you'd like.

All of these will also have much better battery life than the toshiba, because of Optimus support. I know you don't really need battery, but it's several hours extra (plus cooler and quieter running when not gaming) for no extra charge.

Have you considered getting a Sager? I recently purchased the NP9150 from xoticpc, and so far it's been amazing. They are on the rather-expensive side of the spectrum, but you will get the best for what you pay for.

Nvidia GT 610M 1.0gb/2.0gb

is a scam video card. It's literally just above the Intel 3000 basic HD chip.

I bought a similar one to that Trident off tigerdirect.com...after browsing the web about the video card it was only supposed to get like mid-20s FPS on high settings.

Laptops aren't that great for gaming unless you're going to drop at least 1200, but thats just my opinion/experiences.

An entry level graphics card (see: entry) isn't supposed to perform any more than just above integrated graphics level. It's mainly for an ultrabook form factor or something along those lines where you need a low power gaming solution. Obviously an entry level card shouldn't be able to come anywhere near high settings

Don't get a Dell notebook, look more for Asus. Dell, in my experience, has very bad problems with overheating, so unless you're willing to be very diligent about opening it up and replacing thermal grease you'll be running into issues.

@Alryk,

that was in response to his link above. I looked at the specs.

My comp has better stats than that and can barely run sc2 on its lowest settings... I will never understand. lol. 3.30 ghz, 8gb RAM, 64bit, can't run sc2 except with all settings turned to lowest at which point everything looks like weird clay figures. lol so confusing.
