When Diablo 3 servers are down when Animes aren't coming out when I am bored out of my mind I turn to my friend. the Microsoft Flight Simulator. It's actually my first computer game ever, the game was lost to me but I was so happy that I found it on Steam a month ago.

Something about the view and the roar of a aircraft engine just relaxes me, I could actually just be on the flight simulator all day because for some reason I just love it so much.

I didn't buy hawaii yetnot sure how good it is, but I did buy the Mitsubishi Zero seeing it was a pretty cool air craft. I am sad that it lacks a cockpit view mode though. (Icon 5 was just so slow)

Well diablo 3 is online now so I can go play that, but when all else fails there is nothing like just flying a plane.

apparently the zero doesn't like me try to land in water, it starts sinking.

flight simulator is the best.

I had one of the very first versions of it back in like windows 95 days and I would spend the whole time just crashing into buildings or landing with no landing gear. was pretty sick.

I always flew the Learjet so I could have maximum speed.

Nice. Out of curiosity, how accurate of a simulation of a real aircraft is MSF?

It has alot of the science to it down, not exactly realistic, but about as good as you can get for something on a PC

From what I understand it's good for everything except for practicing emergency maneuvers (engine failures, fires, etc). For just getting the basics of flying a plane down it's accurate.

My favorite plane is the F4U Corsair, but it quickly fell out of my favor when I tried to do the acrobatic courses. Corsairs is FRICKEN FAST. It felt really hard to do some sharp turns when you are going 300knots

Though I could cut power or throttle down but when I fly the courses I always forget to do it =/

So for the harder courses I use the Japanese Zero.

Also it's best to fly with a combination of mouse and keyboard arrow keys.

You can't acrobatics well with the mouse (barrel roll, stall juke etc.) you pull harder on the stick and can "Balls to the walls" quicker with the Mouse.

For the acrobatics course I recommend the Zero or the Mustang, Corsair you basic fly at 20% throttle the whole time and still over shoot some of the rings. also when you go too fast and you dive into a reverse the corsair might just crash while the other 2 can pull just in time.

First time I sat behin the controls of a real plane most of it was pretty similar to the flight simulator from like... 2000? Also that's when I understood why my grandfather always hoped to one day sit in a simulator which lets you feel stuff what's going on with your ass. =D

I think my strongest memory was that I always had to try to fly through the twin towers (was like one of the few buildings implemented back then), I usually ended up failing pretty hard and crushing into them. =(
