On the other hand now, TL need to step up their game and make sure no one says anything that can be taken in offence and they need to watch what they say as well
last night after a rant I had a TL mod pm'd me this http://i.imgur.com/xmA16.jpg TL is respectable and should watch out for hypocrisy.
If you call someone a retard you get banned, saying you'll get banned if you act like a retard won't get you banned
"unless you're a retard"- i can find offense in if I had a family member who had a mental handicap. "unless you'e a <insert derogatory word>"- TL need to watch what they say......

I'm offended by the fact you said family since I don't have a family... -_- you can get offended by anything, don't turn this into a political correctness issue, it isn't. This has nothing to do with mentally handicapped, and the word doesn't even have any connotation with mentally handicapped any more (challenged is the new word fyi).

He didn't bring it here, some guy who all-ined and won made a thread about it, if that guy hadn't been such a dick wanting to screw Destiny over none of this would have happened.
He did bring in like 1-4k viewers every stream session, surely TL gets something for having him as a featured streamer, but what can you do? He did say a bad word...
Go read the thread is website feedback to see the true ban reason
I respect it and think its correct
He BMed a mod or something, no? I'm not going back to that shitstorm of a thread, lol.

But that was his decision. Destiny came into the thread and started breaking TL rules left and right. That's why he was banned. It's true that the other guy called him out for his racism, but Destiny could have simply said, "It's my stream and I do what I want with it." He didn't do that though which is the problem.

The the mod used "retard" in a context that is derogatory in nature. Just like other words or phrases, "retard" can be used in a hurtful or deeming way or in an aggressive way to get a response. family is not used the same manner. "unless you'e a <insert derogatory word>" insert family into that and see how it works out.
This thread has clearly turned into a Destiny thread instead of an essay thread, so I'll just put my 2-cents in:
It was completely Destiny's fault that he got banned. If he was mature enough to just ignore the thread and the petty insults that were slung at him, then he wouldn't have been banned. Hell, if he was mature enough to leave the game without calling him a gook (like calling a black person the n-word), he wouldn't have been banned.
Destiny clearly wasn't at full fault and arguably not even at half-fault. Intrigue as a mod showed a disgusting lack of professionalism and the OP really needed to learn how to get a thicker skin. However, if Destiny hadn't acted like a 13 year old, became butt-hurt and attacked everyone, he wouldn't have suffered any consequences. In a sense, Destiny should've developed a thicker skin as well.
The things Destiny says and the way he reacted to the situation clearly shows that he has a lot of growing up to do despite what he thinks, and he paid for his immaturity in this situation. He deserves every repercussion that he suffered from the ban. I honestly don't see this as an issue of political correctness and more as an issue of maturity. He wasn't banned because he said a bad word, he was banned because he was immature about it. In this case, talk about PCness really isn't as relevant as it was in the orb scandal.
Is it fair? No. I think Intrigue should be de-modded or disciplined in some way, but sometimes life isn't fair.

I can agree with this, I haven't read the Intrigue/Destiny coflict but the rest seems accurate. About the de-modding of Intrigue, it won't happen, life isn't fair and TL is even less fair ^^ (That was a joke based on the TL Commandents)

If OP didn't want this he wouldn't have mixed the 2 things

Intrigue is a long time well respected member. He's done so much for the community that a destiny ban is probably laught about in the mod circle.
Newcomers (maybe you are not, i'm generalizing) often make this mistake to tell how other users/mods should behave and what should or shouldn't be done. Prime example is post like "this post should be worth a ban", mods hate that.
TL forum are generally more "elitist" and narrow-minded (not in a bad way) when it comes to theses kind of things. It always been like that and I hope it stays. Mods opinion should be respected. They always been open to criticism but there is a line not to cross. Like the #1 commandment says : "This is our house"
Message to the OP for the thread about Destiny Fuck you, whatever your name was, I can't believe you actually got things the way you wanted. You remind me of a spoiled brat; allin, win, recieve BM(which is something you should just laugh about), make a thread, get Destiny banned. You just got everything you wanted, hope you're happy.
Well, no surprise that you're a supporter of Destiny. You share the same disregard for TL rules as him, which is what got him banned by the way. WardenSC's thread didn't get Destiny banned. Destiny got himself banned.

How did I disregard the TL rules? I had a good reason to leave a message, he is the (indirect) reason for Destiny being banned, if he hadn't posted the thread none of this would have happened. And as you pointed out, I am a supporter of Destiny, he is the person that kept me playing sc2 with all of his wacky stuff, he (and Day9 ofc) is the reason I kept playing until I placed Diamond.
Do people actually read what I post? That's actually kind of cool, but yes I know that Destiny did this to himself and I'm really, really sad about it, can't say it was unexpected though.
Kinda agree with the whole OP being butthurt thing, i dont watch Destiny except for a few videos on youtube that were pretty funny. However that OP that eventually got him banned(kicked out of his team rather, edit) was kinda "weeeh someone was mean to me over the internet" that now just happened to be Destiny. People BM all the time in different forms, progamer or not it was still only a ladder game. Like many have said had it been Idra nothing would've happened, had it been a semi pro nothing would've happened.
I agree progamers should be proffessional when representing their team, but as it stands i wouldn't consider ladder to be such a place, LAN's yes. Frankly i think that people who went out of their way to destroy things for Orb and Destiny are just full of themselves. Political correctness is a farse and in the end it wasn't about the fact that they had done something wrong, it was about getting them punished. Starting a thread on TL condemming their behavior, fine. E-mailing their teams and sponsors demanding they be punished is just ridicilous.
You're like the old people that always ring in to TV shows proclaiming how offended they are over something, nobody takes them seriously. This is pretty appropriate:
From what I gathered, this is an accurate representation of what happened metaphorically:
Destiny was chilling in his house. Some other guys walked in. Destiny said some mean words to his computer. Other guys found it offensive so they left and told the cops.
This is quite literally a case of: If it offends you, then don't watch it. I sure as hell don't listen to Justin Beiber on the radio if I can help it, so why don't you navigate your mouse away from the stream?
Destiny's stream is personal and the only thing he represents is himself. The only people that can take that away from him are Own3d and quite frankly they don't give a shit.
Ban his stream on TL because it doesn't fit with you personal preferences. I work in retail and oddly enough this whole thing reminds me of a bigot customer I had once. He said that we shouldn't sell Pan's Labyrinth because it was in Spanish. Now if you ask me TL is playing the part of the bigot in this example.
The point is words are always going to offend. "Actions speak louder than words", as they say and I don't see news reports of Destiny going out and murdering people. Saying that something offends you is like saying that you have uncontrollable emotions and you need someone else to regulate them for you. Grow up.
How about emailing teamliquid and own3d.tv asking why they support hate speech?
Destiny CONTINUES to use "gook, nigger, faggot" as of TODAY 5.9.2012 .. why are you giving him a platform to spew his hatred?
Does Own3d.tv and Teamliquid stand behind this kind of hate speech? Is this appropriate for a featured streamer on Own3d.tv and Teamliquid? Please advise. [link to imgur] Sent to pr@own3d.tv, partner@own3d.tv, sales@own3d.tv, teamliquid's contact us form (lol). Anyone out there who feels this kind of language is unacceptable, please e-mail.

Most people realize words are not always going to offend. Those people know which words are going to offend and which ones are cool. Those are the people who coincidentally don't get banned.
Other people with little to zero empathy and social skills don't even understand whats offensive what's not. Or know whats offensive whats not and choose to be offensive on purpose. Those usually get banned. All fair.
