I have to agree with the decision to ban Destiny's stream for 30 days (that's what happened right?), but I'm not feelin' it. Destiny being Destiny, he's always been like this and because some random bloke who all-inned him and screencapped his BM (chances for him actually being offended by it is very slim) and posted it here. To me it just looks like he just wanted to screw Destiny over, and I think he's a fucking idiot for doing that.
I respect TLs decision and will not question it, but I don't like it. (Not that I would have made a difference anyway lol)

Message to the OP for the thread about Destiny
+ Show Spoiler +
Fuck you, whatever your name was, I can't believe you actually got things the way you wanted. You remind me of a spoiled brat; allin, win, recieve BM(which is something you should just laugh about), make a thread, get Destiny banned. You just got everything you wanted, hope you're happy.

In recent news, I had a english test today, we were supposed to write an article about "younger people" and safety on the internet. (Not that they told us what they meant about that)
If you want to read it and maybe even discuss it feel free, and NO this is not homework I'm asking for help about, this is asking for feedback on the article I wrote. Test was delivered 3 hours ago so no way for me to change it now.

+ Show Spoiler +
The Internet and You
In this article I will be telling you about how the internet can be both a good and a bad thing. I will be referencing some websites and telling you more about them. I will also discuss how to not get scammed or fooled on the internet.
The internet is a great place, but as almost all other things it has a “dark side”, one of the many dangers online is to have someone trying to steal your identity. This is a really easy thing to fall for and is not really that hard to pull off. They start by sending you an e-mail, and tell you that “You have to update your profile information” or something like that. Then they link you to a fake site they created for this purpose, which will look exactly the same as the regular site, except that when you log in you have just given them you login information. They can then use it to access your account on the real site, change your password and do whatever they want.
This probably isn’t that big a deal if it’s just some online game (although it can be incredibly frustrating), but imagine if they did that to, say, your bank account? They could do enormous amounts of damage. The best way to protect yourself from this is to simply look at the address bar on top of your web-browser and see if it’s the correct site. Check for small differences like: www.facebook.no and www.facesbook.no, it’s really easy to see if it’s a fake site if you know what to look for. Another thing you could do is check where the e-mail came from, if it came from thansen@faceook.com or pingpuffyhouse@1337.com. In this example it’s completely obvious which one is a legit Facebook employee, but scammers are human too, most of them are not that stupid, and they will try their hardest to fool you.

Another thing (this one is mostly for younger persons) is that there’s a lot of grotesque images and videos. They aren’t very hard to find, some parts of the website www.reddit.com which is for the most part a friendly and nice website, but it has the idea of free speech, so that users can create their own “reddits” (which would be linked as www.reddit.com/r/[name of reddit]. Reddit has been critized a lot for having pictures/videos of minors performing sexual acts, especially on the www.reddit.com/r/jailbait reddit, this reddit were closed recently because of protest from the rest of the reddit community(and problems with the US Government), but there are still some left (which I will refrain from linking to). Reddit is a nice website and it has a lot of information and a really nice community, this was just for the purpose of illustrating how a nice site can have bad sides to it.

A site that should be blocked to anyone under the age of 16 however is www.4chan.org. It started out as an “imageboard” (a forum where you share images along with text) for anime. But today it basically is the most obscene/grotesque legal website on the internet, it is allegedly also the place where “Anonymous” arranges its operations. On this site, everyone is known as an “Anon” or “Anonymous” (“Femanon” if it’s a girl), this is simply to allow everyone to speak their mind without having to worry about being tracked down to a username. But this also brings out the more extreme opinions, for example www.4chan.org/b/ has absolutely no rules other than the general rule of “NO UNDERAGE SEX”, but most people ignore this and post it anyway. 4chan can be funny, but be cautious on this site, some of these guys really know how to hack you and get your personal information.
Another danger for young people are the “shock sites”, these are sites that post extremely graphic content with the purpose of shocking the viewers. These sites are often titled as www.2girls1cup.com (I implore you to not go to that page, it is just an example on how these pages stylize their names). If you see anything similar to the previous link don’t go there unless you really want to see something disgusting.

If you’re a young person and want to use the internet responsibly you should preferably ask an older brother/sister about the new website you’re going to. Since that most likely won’t happen, you have the general rules for internet safety:
1. Don’t tell anyone you don’t know what your name is.
2. Don’t tell anyone you don’t know where you live.
3. Don’t tell anyone you don’t know where your school is.
4. Don’t send pictures of yourself to people you don’t know.
5. Don’t send pictures of your friends to people you don’t know.
6. Don’t agree with meeting up with someone you don’t know (from the internet).
And if you do
7. Bring an adult.
Basically don’t give out you own or your friends’ personal information to people on the internet. If you’re registering for a website login and you’re uncertain whether or not to give them you address ask your parents (or older brother/sister).
There really isn’t any way to be 100% secure against all the nasty websites on the internet unless you have a ridiculous internet filter, which takes away the fun in using the internet anyway. The best way is to simply use common sense, if a page is called something like www.rotten.com (don’t press that link) do you really think it’s a site where you have friendly conversations and get good friends? No.
The list above is more for kids (0-12) on how to behave on the internet, it is very possible to get online friends that really just want to be friends, and after you get some browsing experience you will learn where to hang out and where not to. No matter what interests you it’s on the internet, which is both good and bad for obvious reasons. Find your favorite site to hang out on, get some friends and have fun.

To conclude I would say that kids (0-12) should have some kind of supervision while browsing; if they are older than that they should use common sense. I for one see girls (and boys) post pictures of themselves half-naked on Facebook and other social networking sites and not pay attention to who they share it with. This is obviously very bad, because then everyone that visits their profile can see the picture and download it, and upload it to another site. If that happens, the picture is never (I mean it, NEVER) coming off the internet. The picture can also be manipulated and used in internet “memes”, or other things. This recently happened to a girl with downs syndrome, where a random man found a picture of her when she was a baby, and made it into a meme. That girl is never going to get all the pictures off the internet because they actually got very popular.
A girl on 4chan (this is to elaborate on why you should be careful on this site!) posted pictures of herself to get compliments, she then made a few of them herself, and someone called her out for this. To make a long story short, hackers found her credit card number, her social security number, her address, and the equivalent information for her parents and cousins. They also sent messages to her school principal linking him to the photos and they also sent this information to her parents.
So in short, think before you post!

I don't know, it sounds to happy and skippy and sunshine and rainbows like a 14 year old teen girl.

I guess I would make it sound more neutral.

I like the idea of your teacher typing those URLs into their browser at work to find out what they are. Assuming you are still in school maybe you will be called into the principle's office tomorrow...

The email thing - it's very easy to put a fake email address in the header. If you have doubts about the authenticity of the sender, view the original email as a text-only file. Gmail has this option. Here's an example (my email address omitted, important parts in bold).

I thought about it, the only really bad one is rotten, is 2girls1cup even the correct address?
Why should I be called to the principals office for knowing about those sites? I mean who doesn't?

EDIT
I even wrote a warning about it, if they have any brains at all thy would research it a little before going there.

Assuming you are in school and therefore a minor, open and frank knowledge of a site that you suggest has a “NO UNDERAGE SEX” policy but in which 'most people ignore this and post it anyway' would warrant at least a conversation, if just out of concern for your safety.

I was only really joking in my first post.

Conversation for my safety because I've heard about 4chan and /b/? It's common knowlegde on the internet that 4chan is a breeding ground for under-age pornography and paedophiles. I can have a conversation with a counsellor or whatever no problem, I very rarely browse 4chan, and I never browse /b/. And no, I don't watch children having sex either.

Destiny did step over a line and banning him for 30 days was the right thing to do.

On the other hand now, TL need to step up their game and make sure no one says anything that can be taken in offence and they need to watch what they say as well

last night after a rant I had a TL mod pm'd me this http://i.imgur.com/xmA16.jpg
TL is respectable and should watch out for hypocrisy.

He did bring in like 1-4k viewers every stream session, surely TL gets something for having him as a featured streamer, but what can you do? He did say a bad word...

I think the issue isn't the fact that he was doing it on his stream, but he brought it over to Team Liquid which has a different set of values than where he is in charge of the broadcast. It's like saying anyone can be a dick to their close friends in their space, but you can't go to the middle of town and start screaming obscenities at someone you don't agree with.

I respect it and think its correct
