Yesterday I recibed a mail from a Doctor who is supposed to teach us stuff about integration of clinical data around gastroenterology and neumology. It is a weird class. I was disappointed to find myself in a precarious situation, out of 10 points, I got 8, despite my efforts to get a great grade so I could be the number 1 of my generation. Normally, I wouldn't mind, but that is not the case right now: I need that position on my university, so I can get support from the government in the form of money (I live in Mexico, if you are wondering).
So then, inmediately, I sent a response to that doctor, asking wtf happened and why I got such a low grade. He responded 17 hours later. He responded saying he would be waiting for me at the unit of intesive care at our local hospital. I think this turned out to be a harder exam than expected.
Even if I go tomorrow and get a those 10 points, I have 1 more exam left, and I need to study for it. Even if i get those points, there is no warantys that I'll get that first place in my generation so I can get money from the government. I want to face this situation but I'm afraid, to be honest. I Know I'm good, but I'm still not a doctor. And he could very well make me suffer for this aproach I'm taking by making my grade even lower. What would you do in my situation?

Kind of hard to understand but in my view you only have 1 option. You have to at least try. Whats the worse that can possibly happen? You get a lower grade you still dont get the money so go for it.

If he is out to get you the damage is already done (response was already send).

I don't know why he would trick you or how in the hell that could hurt you by showing up. If anything you're at least making the effort to improve your score. Study efficiently for you next exam...the human mind has a way of adapting to time constraints. If you have two weeks to do something, how many times do you get it done way before you need to? Typically I will always finish studying or complete a project right before it's due regardless of the amount of time I spend on it. As long as you aren't cutting out all of your study time and leaving you with no way to succeed, the choice seems clear to me. You should go and try to take care of your grade for the first class and then use your remaining time to prepare for your next exam.

Can you clarify what you mean by first of your generation? Do you mean relative to your immediate family and cousins of the same generation you have the most prestigious or highest paying job?

I think he means first place in his class for academic ranking/scholarship purposes.

Hopefully you cannot get lower than an 8 if you go again? And the extra effort might pay off in the end, maybe he will boost something at the end because of the effort you showed?
Either way, I say go, and obviously only 1 option for last exam.
