I don't like World Domination. It reminded me of someone who just started to make cool sounding, ominous music, and he put in quotes from the Matrix or whatever. The recital completely destroys any atmosphere in the intro, however it starts out quite nicely at 0:40, but then at 1:10 you add a lazy trickle melody, repeat the entire thing virtually unchanged until forever and add some more vocal samples and just fill space in general. No. What is the point of the track? Just to show off that thirty second section apparently? It's actually decent on its own, now go and make a track that does not stretch it to four and a half minutes. In the same vein, Beat does not have enough substance or variation to be three minutes long. Should be shorter. The instrumentals are very bland by themselves, but I assume they are meant to be background or mix material, so that's probably fine. Still Waiting is the best piece I've heard, and it's only 40 sec long, so the lack of variation actually works just fine at that length. If you're not confident, just make shorter tracks. No point forcing it. You can always add more good content later. If you're more focussed on hip hop and rapping, well, you need to get a better microphone. I won't comment on the quality of the lyrics or whatever, but the lack of musical variety still shines through in the background. On your latest addition to soundcloud, Sonic Terror, you literally repeat like 5 seconds worth of content about 50 times and randomly drop the percussion whenver it gets too stale. I assume you are aware how boring your stuff sounds, but just haven't found the right way to fix this. I don't even know what I can say other than listen -attentively- to what good music producers make and try to relate that to your work. Right now it doesn't look like you are doing more than getting the basic beat right -- and stretching it for way too long. By the way, Let'Em Know and Halcyon Eternity are salvageable. The first one is almost self-aware at how generic it is, and tries to bring it some samples and stereo effects, which is a good idea and almost works, the execution is sloppy though, but it could be decent mix material. Halcyon Eternity is short and so the lack of variation and originality doesn't bother me as much. Well, enjoy your feedback! I don't hate you or your music or have vested interest in making you succeed or fail, so you know it's completely honest. | ||
