Brock Lesnar vs John Cena, real or fake?

So it has been known that Brock signed a 1 year deal with WWE. During RAW this evening, Cena interrupted Lesnar and came to the ring to slap him. Then Lesnar took him down and pounded him.

As you can see Cena's lip was busted open, and it's reported that he lost a tooth.

What say you guys, real or fake?

WWE + "real or fake?" = usually lean towards fake. I know nothing about professional wrestling though so sorry I cant give a more "professional" opinion ^^

Edit: I feel like after a certain point, piling on more people to try to pull two guys apart starts losing effectiveness >_>

The word kayfabe is what describes this. Blood can be faked. Anything can be faked if you're willing to pay enough.

If Lesnar actually wanted to hurt him, I doubt this is what would happen. Enjoy it as entertainment, but none of it is real.

Fake. It's already demonstrated that they cut themselves to make blood appears [in this case, doing something to the lip], and "reported that he lost a tooth" sounds fishy.

Fake. Enjoyable for everybody to watch and really good for the crowd but I just can't see all of this being real.

Wow, I didn't realize brock went back to WWE. Never thought he liked the job but I guess he wanted money?

Feel kinda bad for Cena. first he had to get his ass kicked by the Rock's return, and now Brock? I can't see him coming out with a win when the WWE is just gonna want to milk the return of these guys. Who's next? Steve Austin?

I saw that too, and while it certainly looked *more real* than other wrestling stunts, blood and other injuries can be faked just as easily as falls and hits.

I'm gonna say fake, just because they're pros.

WWE is completely and utterly fake in every way. It blows my mind how people even think its remotely real.

They even admit during breaks that its just entertainment. i mean really? Hit a guy in the head with a sledgehammer and a few seconds later he's up and fighting back? Really? How? Don't care how strong you are. Just no.

I watched a program a few years back showing exactly how everything gets done, including blood which the do with razor blades. So never believe anything you see on there to be real unless they make a mistake and someone really gets hurt. Most of the guys that hate each other on stage, are really good friends behind the scenes.

I always thought of it as something like a soap opera in a stadium. Everything is rehearsed, it takes ages to get to the point and its repetitive. The only way to keep it fresh is to go further and further into the realm of the impossible.

While it's certainly built up and they likely have no outside heat with each other, that was a solid punch Cena took after Lesnar took him down. The WWE hasn't used cutting(or blood at all for that matter) in matches in years, namely since the match with Eddie Guerrero vs JBL where Eddie bladed himself so deeply that ended up requiring medical attention and an absurd amount of stitches on his forehead. Aside from that, the PG-centric entertainment WWE promotes nowadays doesn't call for blood. There was a money in the bank match a year or two back where one of the wrestlers suffered a cut and personell ran to ringside to clean him up before he was permitted to continue the match.

So, real or fake? In terms of controversy, definitely fake. That certainly was a real shot Cena took, and almost certainly it was real blood.

That's not completely true. Those steel chair shots are definitely real, and so are the tables and some other stunts. They obviously do it in the safest manner possible, but you're just as oblivious as an 11 year old fan thinking it's real to think that everything is not real. They take a lot of serious injuries as well, more than a lot of sports. I'm guessing the bleeding lip was definitely real. If they wanted to fake some blood it'd have been done on the forehead like you said.

Well obviously the busted lip is real, I doubt it was intentional though. I don't think there is any real life animosity between the two.

Maybe they paid cena a lot of money to take a real hit, it's clearly a publicity stunt.

Same thing i thought. I think lesnar wanted to hit the canvas but he not intentionaly hit Cena's face. I think that cuz the next punches with his right hand land on the mat, and not even close to Cena's face rofl

looks really fake
If you actually want to hurt someone you hurt them instead of missing with your punches.
And that blood is easily fakeable too. Noone could see anything due to all the people for the longest time, easy to spray some fake blood into his mouth at some point.

this is most probably it. After that first blow, Lesnar took a glance at his target (canvas) and all of those 'jabs' missed cena, hitting his actual target.

lol at that Cena Smile XD

Can someone explain to me why people above the age of 12 still watch this? I don't see how this is entertaining at all, I remember watching this when i was young but man i was just a kid, I thought it was real. I mean no disrespect to the OP or anyone else, I am just wondering.

I don't watch it anymore either, but I watch plenty of things that aren't real.
