I've got the Mamba...and I don't particularly like it. I think it is ok as long as you have your hand right over the mouse, but if you just grip the back of the mouse like me, it's not so good. Sensor is ok (as long as you keep it against your mousepad, otherwise it goes crazy if you pick it 1-2mm up by mistake)

I have a friend who owns a Mamba. He despises it, and is now stuck in a situation where he can't afford a new mouse. He had a Death Adder previously, he wishes he could go back.

I personally find the Abyssus amazing and fulfilling despite some jitter issues on my TL Goliathus.

None of these mice are equal to 325 candy bars.

Question, is the deathadder comfortable for medium/smaller hands? Im only 5'6" tall and my hands are average size I suppose. But the deathadder looks like a pretty big mouse. Does that mean its meant for larger hands?

if you palm then deathadder is good. i half palm/ half grip and prefer the xai

Well this is obviously an equation for morbid obesity. We just need to figure out the amount of hours the typical Mamba lasts, and how many calories he will conserve by sitting down and playing games, instead of standing. Then we need to get a rough estimate of which candy bars he will be eating. We will then take that information and multiply the total calorie count by the Obesity Multiplier, leaving us with the Gastric-Lard Coefficient. We then need to figure out the rough distance (in Kilometres, of course) that he will travel on foot to obtain the candy. We convert that number into a Basal heart rate, which we then reverse engineer to determine the percentage of childhood memories he has retained. We the sum up all of these numbers to calculate the Marginal Propensity of Lordship (in the next ~7 years).

But what if he is also sitting when he eats the candy bars? Well fuck... I'll be back with a better equation shortly.

Razer laser mouse = bad

Stick with the Xai or get a DeathAdder if you want a large-ish 5 button mouse.

Xai has built in acceleration = bad

I've also heard issues with the drivers on the Xai which = bad

Mamba is also dual wireless and wired, so you can use it as either. Though the DeatherAdder or Abyssus would probably be much better options since the Mamba 2012 edition is $130.

It's 5%~ acceleration, depending on the CPI setting which isn't a big deal in most games, especially for SC2. The Phillips Twin Laser in the Mamba is much worse than the Avago 9500 in the Xai.

Well I personally would rather deal with the z-axis issue on the PTE instead of built in acceleration and driver issues. -edit: and I'm pretty sure the Xai has angle snapping.

But again, Abussus and DeathAdder are definetly better options. No reason to spend over $100, and no one realistically needs 5600 DPI/CPI.

I agree with the second part, but I still think Xai is a suitable mouse and the liftoff issues on PTE are infuriating. I really don't think players in most genres notice the 5% acceleration, unless you're playing QL.

Also, this might be controversial, but I don't think prediction is a detriment in all games. In CS, most of the time you're on level ground and you line up where the opponent will be before you turn the corner. In that case, I prefer more vertical resistance (which is why Artisan mousepads are slicker laterally than vertically.)

Well most players don't have well developed muscle memory, but high level masters players and ICCUP C and above would probably be pretty frusterated. It's also reducing the accuracy of the mouse cursor as the sensor input is being artificially multiplied. Though I know there are some people out there who like it, so I guess it still comes down to a personal choice.

And yeah I've heard that argument about CS before, and I guess I don't necessarily object. But a high level SC2 player would almost certainly notice a difference. Actually anyone whose developed sufficient muscle memory with a game would notice a big difference. Most people probably would not though, and in fact everyone using a Steel Series mouse is already dealing with it and don't notice it.
