The ability to keep up with macro while microing is one of the most crucial skills to develop...and there's no better way to improve multitasking than with the Team Liquid Multitasking Trainer
What do sports athletes do when they're trying to get better? Usually they train with some sort of resistance (Weights, elastic bands, etc). The idea is to train in conditions more difficult than they experience in a game, that way they're prepared for the worst.
In StarCraft II, a lot of players just hope "the worst" doesn't happen - they hope their opponents won't force them to multitask and pray their opponents don't execute counter-attacks or multi-pronged drops. However, if your goal is to be the best you can be, you should be training expecting the worst, which is I always encourage my students to use a custom map called the "Multitasking Trainer"
The basic idea is to build your base on the left side of the map while constantly running a probe away from a zergling on the right side of the map. I cannot stress enough how relevant this practice is for SC2 players! To be able to go through every step of your build with the added requirement of microing a probe can really improve your multitasking, apm, and unit/larva production.
For those of you who haven't heard of this map, here's how you find it:
Go to create a game Type in "Multi" in the search bar Select the Team Liquid version (Ideally "with creep spread")
Now the game has several difficulty options and tells you to do certain things such as drop off an executor or kill a terran base to the north. You can do this if you want, but I encourage you to just practice your usual ladder build. This way, when it comes to ladder time, it feels like you're moving twice as fast.
Best of luck in your games everyone!

not good enough for it If the probe runs into something it'll slow down, have to watch carefully. Keep trying, get accustomed to it by just moving the probe at first - set keeping it alive as your first priority.

I've had that problem a few times, but I play on NA and just use a different version if one is bugged.
