So, TL, this is it. Praetorial reaches his 1000th post. This may be such a small event, and indeed this will probably end up being a self-congratulatory blog that praises the TL mods for their hard work and dedication.
But I digress.
It's been an interesting year. Just a month ago, I received my first warnings and bans, courtesy of Pholon, who is an awesome mod. I was making a number of statements, derailing threads, so I deserved it. But nothing was more frightening then logging in at home only to find that I had gotten a two-day. That nearly gave me a heart attack. At the time, I thought my bans to be an injustice, but now I see that I was in the wrong.
I lurked TL for quite a while prior to that, and only recently began posting again. I've accumulated about 50 posts in the Mass Effect 3 thread, and a few more in the League of Legends subforum. Team Liquid has displaced Reddit for me; I've finally cast it off for good.
I'm training myself to be an insomniac, setting my alarm clock 15 behind every week. At this point, I'm getting to the point of being able to get about 5 and a half hours of sleep per night. My goal is to get it down to at least five. While it may not be healthy, it would be very convenient.
School has been fun. I've made friends, nearly failed a class, and overall felt very satisfied with myself. I managed to realize that math was not the way I wanted to be spending my life(I'm a freshman, and was on Calculus AB). I instead joined the Speech and Debate team, and my oh my Extemporaneous Speaking is fun.
Unlike my last milestone blog, I don't have any shoutouts. But if you've seen me around and acknowledged me, thank you.
Oh yeah, and having a corsair as my portrait feels awesome. But I won't know the feeling till I post this, so here we go!

Oops.
Not 100th post. 1000th post. Darn keyboard.

I don't know exactly what it is called, but there is some sort of thang where you lower the amount of time that you sleep by sleeping in different blocks of time. They do it in a very extreme manner in the army when they are in a combat environment. You should really look into that, could help you stay healthIER and still get away with more time.
Congratulations though
EDIT: Wait, are you in college or in high school?

Fixed it for you. I was going to say, 100 posts? They're celebrating everything now.
Congrats by the way.

You're thinking of polyphasic sleep. And OP, you're not "training yourself to be an insomniac", you're training yourself to wake up earlier. Imsomia means you are unable to fall asleep when tired, and isn't really a goal you'd strive for.

Interesting. I was under the impression that the table of "X posts with race Y gives you Z portrait" wasn't freely available data...

Thanks for the correction, and after lurking TL for five years, you tend to learn what portrait people get after a certain # of posts.

That's true. I guess I just never paid that much attention in my lurking phase. I just have hazy memories of the monkeys. We probably shouldn't be talking about this, I'm concerned they can hear us. Oh god, the monkeys can always hear us.

Don't say that too loudly, lest the wizard be around...

The corsair is just so much cooler than the vulture and whatever zerg has that it wasn't even a choice.

Zerg level 3 icon is a Lurker.
Pro tip, the icon files are actually numbered.

its called the Uberman Sleep Cycle. its a 20-minute nap every 4 hours every day, giving you 2h of sleep per day. its soooo hard to do. Ive tried to do the Dymaxion Cycle, which is a 30min nap every 6 hours every day, but i gave up because my body began to reject it.
So off topic, but either way, congrats! Though I've only posted >20 posts, I've been lurking TL for years, and hope that one day i have the focus and ability to make it to 1000. GRATZ!

Okay, lurker is actually cooler, thanks Toast!
