This week I F5ed gmail for most of it. Waiting for northeastern apps.
It didn't come. Evidently some power shenanigans in boston messed it all up. Getting released early next week :|
And then I was blindsided by Davis releasing their apps. Saw a giant congratulations. half expected it to be spam from some low tier university "congratulating" me on my ability to file an easy app and get a ton of money.
Naw. UC Davis accepting me for computer science. Not bad, bro.
Finally I got in somewhere I'd be happy going. Many of my friends may be insane, but I am to say the very least adequate Feeling great right now. UCSD is tomorrow... hopefully I get into engineering and not L&S.

Haha, thanks. I have like 6 or so. But realistically all too expensive even if I get in. Northeastern is probable,
|
everything's looking good for you. Congrats

Have yet to get a rejection letter. Might from UCSD. Getting accepted to not engineering is basically a rejection :|

Except you could always change your major once you're in.

Changing from L&S to engineering is borderline insane from what I"ve heard.

The change major form at UCSD is a simple one-half page thing that takes 3 minutes to fill out. You'd only run into problems if you were trying to get into an impacted major, like Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering or something.

Don't think so. There are certainly a lot of people in the program, but it isn't limited because a lot of the University's undergrad resources go to it. Only ones that I remember as being impacted were MAE and bioinformatics.
Edit: Oh and concurrent undergrad major + MBA stuff in econ too.

It's not... it requires pre major though. So I'd just have to take the pre major courses, and then get the GPA, and then be a CS major? Awesome.

Yeah, that's how I think that worked. It's fairly straightforward and not that hard to do at all.

Wait a minute, I was told transfer applications for UC schools come in during April?
|
No, I'm a high school applicant. Just talking about switching from a L&S to engineering major if admitted as undergrad.
|
You wouldn't go to pomona? I was under the impression that it was very good
|
I was freaking out for a second. All UC schools send rejection letters at the least right?

Changing majors within a college (ie from L&S to another L&S or from Eng to another Eng) is relatively simple. Transferring from L&S to Eng is as hard as getting into Eng in the first place, and should not be relied on in the first place-- there are spots in the junior year reserved for Community College Transfers and it's tough competition.

I go to Davis! Hit me up if you have any questions about the school. JSYK we are pretty boss at SC2.
