Just got my New Tenkeyless Tactile Click Keyboard from Leopold Korea. Being my first mechanical keyboard I was quite skeptical not knowing what to expect. Past keyboards include Razer Lycosa and Logitech G15.

I've got to say I love it so far. It uses Cherry MX Blue switches so it feels great to both game and type on. It takes a little getting used to since there is no wrist rest and the click sounds it makes is kind of pleasant? some like the click the blue switches give, some dont

Woo~ Delivery was fast taking only 4 days, am happy with my purchase

Time to go take some nerds ladder points

I want to get a mech. Keyboard, but im really nervous about which to pick. You can't really ever get the chance to touch the keyboard before you buy it (Unless its a friends) and if i'm going to get one its gonna be a higher ends since i plan on using it for a longggg time.
Plays against every MU with nexus first.

Congrats on the new keyboard! Blues are definitely hit and miss with some people, but I have a Das with blues because I wanted that sound, and I love it.

Me and Danny are on the same thought process, took a bit of a gamble with the blues, but I am extremely happy with my Das! Word of warning though, you will fucking hate typing on anything else in like a month (assuming you use it all the time.)

Do NOT buy a Topre as your first mechanical. I have a leopold with reds, a ducky with browns, a filco with blues and a Topre 103UB with their electrostatic capacitive switches. While I love my Topre, it is absolutely NOT a good starter board. It's extreme price $265+ and very unique switch style is not for everyone. While it is by far the best typing board I own, it is also the worst gaming board I own. Its extremely precise tactile feedback, outrageously smooth key movement and excellent key feel are all but irrelevant when you game. I have to say, I'd be seriously disappointed if I'd spent $285 (Tax/ship) on a Topre as my first mechanical. It's like a fine wine, if you're a big wine drinker you'll immediately appreciate it's very fine subtleties however if you just drink cheap crap (aka have just used rubber domes), you wont be able to tell the difference between a Topre and a rubber dome. Buy a Topre after trying out a few different switches and deciding you need a dedicated typing board. FYI I've tried every cherry switch and own most of them... My dedicated gaming board is a Leopold FC200RR with Cherry Reds, the Topre is the dedicated typing board.

I'm thinking about doing a real write up for people buying their first mechanical and my personal views and side by side comparisons of the many companies / switch types I own. Anyone interested?

sounds good, for a first time buyer the difference between keys can be very confusing (blue, brown, black, red, etc)

I don't post often at all, but I just wanted to say that this is an awesome idea and would be super helpful. I researched a bit on different mechanical keyboards and there's a lot of info on the different switches and reviews of individual boards, but its hard to find anything on comparisons between boards since not many people have used a variety of boards.

And to OP, congratulations! Glad you like it.

I just know that my ABS M1 is wonderful but after about a year sometimes my W key intermittently doesnt work, so I cant really recommend it.

I'd would be very interested in your thoughts on red switches and if someone has every tried the rubber thingies that you put between your keycap and your switch to decrease the noise.

The softcaps arnt worth your investments, they BARELY decrease the noise levels of bottoming out your keys

You mad

I have used a filco with blue switches, and my brother uses a blackwidow with black switches. I got my topre and that is the only board i use, both for gaming and typing. Nothing else can compare too it. Dunno what you're saying about not being a good keyboard when you state this

So what your're saying is that you game with shitty keyboards that is clunky, get keys stuck, and have varying weights? No wonder why you're stuck where you are.

since i am using mech keyboards ( first was bw from razer, now 6gv2 ), i type and play so much more smooth and precise..... would like to know if there is a huge difference to these filco/DAS keyboards, which are from way more expirienced producers.
i can recommend to anyone who dont got a mech keyboard, get one it is worth it!

I recently received the Das Ultimate for Christmas I did my research here on TL forums and that was one of the most widely suggested boards. http://www.daskeyboard.com/

Now, I got the edition that doesn't have any inscriptions on it at all and while I find that it's fine now that I have started typing on it for 3 months, at the beginning it was quite difficult to play SC2 because I would mishit keys and try to hit things faster and faster... and it would snowball badly from there. Overall though, for the price it's a great starter keyboard and it is superb for either typing or playing (I play SC2, LoL and occasionally some CoD2).

Good luck in your search.
