I was getting really close to a girl this summer. We would hang out pretty much every day (for about 12 hours), she would be extremely physical (kisses, hugs, massages, holding hands, taking naps together, cuddling up during movies, sentimental text messages, late night phone calls) and these are pretty straight-forward signs that she wanted to pursue something more meaningful. We end up even sleeping together, but in the end she still maintained that she has always viewed me as a friend and nothing more, as she has said numerous times. I was completely taken aback by it. If her actions are contradicting her verbal statements, you need to talk with her about it. Something as benign as "Is this going to stay at the friendship level or are you looking for something more serious?" works well. You need to find out explicitly instead of taking things for granted. I say this because I was incredibly hurt, and I really don't want to see someone else go through it if it can be avoided. Some girls are serious when they do that, and I hope your case is this one, but some girls just like attention and eke it out wherever they can, especially if other things in their life are complicated or not going well. | ||
