There is nothing in this world that ever lasts, nothing in this world that will consistently make you feel the way you do when you climb the highest mountain. Nothing can continue to satisfy you like when you realize a sudden truth, nor can you hope to keep the ecstasy of young kindling love forever. Our biological chemistry and the power of time will always dull these moments of “true” happiness. Humans are insatiable and fallible. We change and sadly, so do the things that temporarily sustain our smiles. We either want more and seek other things, or we grow bored and take for granted what we have.
Too many people foolishly envision a perfect marriage in which they “take on the world” and somehow come out unscathed in the end. We all know and must understand that the first day is not like the 100th day, nor is it like the 10,000th.
No wonder the world is full of religion and beliefs. You see, the idea of religion and god can last forever throughout the passage of time. It is in a sense an unmoving star (yes, even the North Star moves but work with me) that will always shine no matter what. But, to keep things short, we all know that religion is simply a safety net for the weak and hopeless. It is for those who are blinded by the beauty of the “star” because in relation to their own personal life, it is far greater than anything they can achieve. However, we cannot blame such people for the world surely does not offer a many great alternatives.
So in the the light of this utterly meaningless and purposeless life, are we better off dead? I mean, why should we continue to live when nothing in the end and now really matter?
I say no. We are not better off dead! Rather, we must take the sorrow and emptiness of the world and kiss it goodnight, every fucking night.
Let me tell you why.
I have faith, not in a religious sense, but a faith that comes from hope. When we hope, our state of mind and ultimately our happiness rises with the level of what we are hoping for. Hoping for a brand new shiny car is not the same joy as when we hope for snow on a school day (eh, I will take the snow day ). Thus, our feeling depends on the things we long for, we desire and hope for. This is why I will now tell you to hope for the greatest thing that you could ever wish for. The thing that people will pray to a god for and live all their lives in search of.
The hope of a meaningful and purposeful life.
Can you imagine that? To finally gain meaning and purpose in our lives would mean that we have finally broken the barrier and obstacle of how all good things must come to an end. It would mean that every day would be the first day you fell in love! Rest in the serenity of peace baby because true meaning and purpose will never let you go and never let you down. It is unwavering confidence and a love of life that surpasses the touch of time and carries the world. I would like to write more but how can a mere mortal such as myself explain something so grand and magnanimous? I do not do justice to the definition of true meaning and true purpose for it goes beyond my wildest imagination and most importantly, differs from person to person, from you to me. Alas, it is also nigh impossible to reach.
What? Impossible to reach? Then what is the use of longing for such ideals? It can’t happen so what the fuck is the point? Nothing in this world will offer such meaning and purpose because all things are man made and thus must come to an end. Our true love can betray us, friends fade away, our accomplishments drown in history and material wealth lacks the ability to fully satisfy our complex human needs.
Listen carefully.
Because it is impossible, we can only hope. Because it is unreachable, we can only hope. But because it is so great, that hope is enough.

I struggle with the fact that I dream of things that will never come, but it is the FACT that I dream of things that are so tastefully out of reach and beyond the scope of anything that has been, was and is of this world, that allows me to live life so optimistic and determined. Do you not understand? The hope of a brand new shiny car does not hold a candle to what I feel now. For I have faith and hope of something far greater, and the feeling of happiness I get from this hope is enough to last forever.
That day might never come but who says I cannot have simple faith and a dream a boy’s dream? Why must everything be black and white? My life is a journey in search of true meaning and purpose. Though arduous and impossible it might be, I can take this journey a thousand times for the reward is too great to ignore!
When you are outside at night, look up to the stars. Take in the frigid air and all the starry lights. Let go of all things that are in the past and shed away everything, until all that left is you. Come to realize that in the end we are just ourselves and nothing else. All the things we have have no meaning without us! And, if we ourselves do not have meaning, then how pitiful and sad our lives will be! Thus, close your eyes and juxtapose a meaningless life with that one of true meaning and purpose. It is a comparison that not even, “forever and ending” can define. Then, just imagine how fucking sweet and life-changing it will be! To go from no meaning to a life of purpose would be cosmically orgasmic! Hehe, imagine! Picture yourself with nothing but your underwear and yet you lack nothing because you have that which gives you everything.
If you smiled at this thought, then you have tasted the words I have spoken, you have felt this great hope that I have. And, if you never want this taste to leave your senses, then why not go after it and suck, swallow, bite and eat the whole thing?! After all, if you can taste it, then perhaps it might just exist.
I do not really know what this really is because some parts it seems like you have a horrible outlook on like and then it turns a 180 so I really do not know what the truth here is. :0
Absurdism is absurd. I do not believe it ends in anything meaningful. Neither do Absurdists. And yet, they're okay with that. Okay with waiting to die. Okay with living meaningless lives.
What is meaningful if you believe that a life can have variable worth?
