you're boss's recommendation is worth her weight in gold in the job hunt. having that much experience in your life and a boss that approves of you will get you a job with a bit of money to it.

Really when I was 13 I wanted a job. The reason I wanted a job was because I wanted money so I could do stuff and not have to ask my parents. Want to know what I did when I turned 16 and got my drivers license? Job hunting until I got a job. Money is nice when you can do stuff with it especially when your parents don't buy you much other then birthday/christmas. ^^

Thanks for all the great words guys! I will prbably end up using my extra time to play some DotA 2 and maybe try to go pro. I am young, have loads of experience in DotA, I am pretty good (not to brag, but I ain't too shabby) and the game is new, so this is would be an optimal time to get very good or even pro. I believe the best term is "walking papers" because its plenty of notice. I assume because you are young there is not as many bills to pay. You should be able to find a new job no problem with a recommendation

True, but I live in a small town where every fucking job is taken. I can't describe how lucky I was to get the job I have now. :D

Sparkling recommendation is worth more than the wages you got for 2 years. Sucks that your extra income got cut, but you'll even more important than the recommendation you can bundle with your resume is the worth ethic it implies, which will let you win at life.

So you got the notice you're getting laid off, but it doesn't take effect until May? Sounds like you got the better of that deal - a lot of people only get a couple weeks (maybe less). You can apply around and try to get a different job before May, or just chill and enjoy life under parental support.

And, as Chill said, you have a great reference. A good recommendation can outright land you a job!

don't burn your bridges op, enjoy yourself for a bit and maybe throw out a few apps and get yourself another job!
