I've been wandering around my neighborhood recently before winter comes and decided to take some pictures. I guess the most interesting thing about this set is that I was a sitting duck for about a dozen homeless guys who wanted their pictures taken along with some change. If anyone has been considering to come to Chicago I recommend going in the fall when it starts to cool down and most nights are fairly clear.

It kind of makes sense to me now why so few people in the area sit around playing games when there's so much to do downtown. I have yet to find a starcraft community downtown, kinda makes me sad. Perhaps my luck will change this year!

I go to school in chicago. We are having a tournament in Downers Grove sunday, I know its not downtown but there is a Metra stop nearby and we can probably have somebody pick you up from the station.

Funny coincidence: I spent the last weekend in a hotel room with a good view of Marina City. Really interesting and very recognizable modernist building complex. (The tower to the right of the picture is one half of Marina City). It is my first time in Chicago - I am still in the city but moved to a hotel on Michigan Ave - but I have to agree there is a lot to do here.

You have done a really good job with the pictures; although I assume it is hard to "stand out" with this kind of photos. Especially when portraying Chicago.

Just curious, were you able to snag any shots of Obama today? I know he stopped by UIC, always nice to go to Chicago at night.

Nope I wans't able to snag pictures of Obama, didn't even know he was in town!

Also I'll see if I have time to check out that tournament in Downers Grove.

You live down in the Loop/Near North side area? Friend, either you are rich or you must live in a hole in the ground.

Eventually I'd love to live in the Neart North side or Lincoln park neighborhoods. It's just so crazy expensive if you want to live in a nice place, plus Illinois unemployment is one of the highest in the nation right now. Probably not moving there any time soon.
