it's just small talk. make something up. if they are asking you they probably just want to look at you while you say yours so they can say what theirs is.
|
No need to be so uptight. Just say "I'll pretty much continue what I was doing, I think there is nothing much I'd like to change this year."

I'm spurning the trend of replies and siding with the OP. While perhaps a bit to angry, ( ) he brings up a good point. The whole concept of a year is based on an archaic traditions from an agro-centric civilization no longer relevant in the modern world. Why should we segragate our lives, and moreover the entire existance of humanity based on the rotation of the Earth around the sun? In a world where greenhouses and efficient, fast frieght transportation make agriculture possible all year viewing the world's events per annum is abitrary and inefficient.
Thus I propose a new metric "year" system based on the sun's rotation around the center of the galaxy.
This way, one drab old "earth year" becomes 0.000000004 galactic year! (based on some estimates). How fun! No more having to say the dinosaurs died 65,000,000 years ago, now they only died .289 years ago! See the time we are saving already!
This model allows for the entire life span of earth to be expressed in a small, managable number. Ladies concerned about your age? How would you like to tell people you are only a few millionths of a year old? If humans ever colonize the galaxy, there won't be any need to change systems!
And the best part: less birthday gifts and christmas cards! Imagine the economic savings. Oh, and you only get asked about your new years resolution once ever 250 million years!!
