I have no problem when its for free but I can see the OP is eventually going to start charging money for coaching. Last seaosn was my first season of SC2 and I reached number 3 in my master league (Im an ex-broodwar player) and I find it funny how basically all master players not in top 8 have no idea wtf they are doing. Then I go on teamliquid and see these same people coaching. I have no problem when the coaching is free and if its a master player coaching a silver/gold player but when I see master players (especially masters players not in top 8) coaching for money it gives me a huge face palm moment. I agree with this completely.

If people are willing to pay for coaching and feel satisfied with the results then what's the problem? Just because you can beat them on ladder doesn't mean they are unqualified to coach lower league players. It just sounds like jealously to be honest. If you don't want people like him to coach then offer better coaching yourself and stop complaining.

I think teaching silver people to play at a GM level would not be realistic at all because GM's have very crisp timings, insane macro and micro, and have a lot of game sense. If someone's goal is to promote from, say, Silver to Gold, then I don't think a GM is necessary. I admit, a GM coach would probably be able to teach much more analytical things, such as scouting nuances and the like, but when we're talking about lower levels (Diamond and below), you'll pretty much hear everyone saying the same thing: macro better, scout more often, etc. EDIT: On January 13 2012 00:49 jkimnw wrote: LandFiLL 164 Platinum League Want to work on ZvP Message me on Skype, please!
