You're not really missing that much imo.
Things are finally getting interesting, like REALLY interesting. Timings are starting to get figured out, micro is improving, and the game is starting to have a consistent shape. That being said, we have HoTS on the horizon, so that'll all go out the window soon anyway.
I've pretty much fully switched back to BW at this point. SC2 game-play still doesn't quite do it for me. I'd be interested to hear what you think about it after a week or two of games.

Nothing will ever be as great as BW.
Having said that, i played the Beta of SC2, bought the game when it released, but didnt really like it at first.
Basically, because it didnt measure up to the legendary BW. But nothing will

You can like sc2 for that it is or not but like you said nothing will measure up to BW in terms of RTS ever again/

Yay! That was sure an expensive retainer o_O
Anyways, you would still be Masters League so if you want to learn, get on ladder and win in straight up games and die to timings and cheese. You should be good really fast.

I remember you from BW. You use to be insanely bad mannered to anyone that beat you on iccup. I dont mean just a little rude, I mean full out douchebag everytime you lost a game. Hopefully you've matured over the year

Not me personally, but I saw plenty of replays/friends play you lol ^^. I was in AoV as a low end user (c/c+) used the ID Dracula. Anyway, you definitely were talented at BW so SC2 should come relatively easy for you. Goodluck~

I got B+ on my account Meatpost[AoV] - Cant remember which season - record was like 120-70. Unfortunately, that account was banned along with the proof. If you knew me, you know im not lying. Also, got B (60-10) season after that, on G4i.MeyvN, which again was banned. You guys can call me a liar, but if you knew me, you know im not lying Had mediocre skills, but was way to BM to keep my accounts back in the day
OMG I remember you! I was InHale[AoV], I can back his claim at B+, he was on my team. <3<3<3<3

Awesome you guys are still playing, <3
Any of the other AoV guys around on SC2?

If you were BM in BW because of the way in which you lost, I can't imagine how bad it must be in this game due to the fact that you can die from some really dumb shit...
Anyways, you're probably just best off watching a few high level VODs from each matchup and then just playing. If you really apply yourself to this game, you could probably get high masters without too much effort, and even into Grandmasters if you ladder a lot. B+ is no joke.

Thanks for the posts guys, didnt want in depth strategy analysis... just basic, since ill learn primarily what has changed from playing the game.
And so far... not much,
Started in Platinum last night, finished up in some random Diamond League.
How does Masters and GM Work? if anyone would be so awesome

Well Masters you just get into by gaining points ie:just win, Grandmasters 200 people that are high masters get in at the start of a new season and have to play to keep their bonus pool low otherwise they get kicked from the league.
This thread is the exact amounts needed for promotions. http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=285744

So, does that mean, you cant get promoted to GM in the same season, it happens next season?

Yeah, if you remember SpiritOf[AovV] he's a pretty good protoss now. Ray[AoV] is now Baxter and he's a solid Zerg, not sure if you remember hOpe[AoV] but hes a sick protoss now, when he practices. I think that's it for SC2 people, the BW team is still around though.

If there is an opening then yes you can. They let people play for a few days before they open up the promotions for GM to let people get high on ladder and see who to promote. If there are slots open, and your MMR is high enough, then you will be promoted. You don't have to wait until next season, that was only the season GM first came out.
