Well Guys, im back.... not like you know me though.
Played BW competitively for about 4-5 years at a mediocre level (topped out at B+ on iccup soon before SC2 Beta came out), when SC2 came out, feel into a depression that the best game ever made was dying .
Anyway, what have i missed in the patches? strategy? anything i need to know.
Starting in some random platinum division.
When i left SC2 a while ago, TvZ was all about reaper cheesy bullshit.
ZvP seems to be similar ( highly colossus based late game)
and ZvZ was a lot of Baneling/Ling Play / Fast tech to muta / or Hydra Infestor builds
Im a Zerg.
And.... Terran was overpowered as tits, how is the balance now?
and the updated strategies?
***Also - Is there anything new in the form of Chat Channels or anything similar?
Any iccup related things or just the original ladder system they set up?

ZvP: Mutas are rising! Most people go mutas nowadays, if not: Roach/corruptor + relatively fast broodlords
ZvT: Baneling landmindes are very nice at the moment. Maybe terran will start to build a raven sometimes? Who knows... Mostly muta/ling/bling while terran goes for marine/tank and few thors or complete mech. Reactor hellion is the standard opening from then, zerg usually go for 15 hatch. 11/11 rax is kinda outdated, it only kills idra!
ZvZ: From what I see on streams its either ling/bling battles or roach vs roach/hydra vs roach/infestor vs roach/muta.

Well TvZ now is often Marine/Tank/Medi, or Mech, Also quite a few 2 Rax SCV all ins especially in the lower leagues. Mech is just a pain in the ass to play against if you ask me, The Terran just expands all over the place with PFs till they are maxed on Tanks/Thors/Hellions.
ZvP nothing has changed really, Except everyone FFEs now and most of the time its a 6gate followup or a 2 Robo Collus build.
ZvZ lots of Ling/Bling wars, 2 Base Mutas into third with the Mapcontrol they provide is quite common, I prefer the ol' Hydra/Roach approach to things. The Muta style is falling out of style from what I've seen recently its most likely a 10/10 Speedling all in, Bane war, or 15 Hatch into Roach/Festor/Hydra. But then again you have to watch out for the 6Pool Drone pull with 2 Spines.
Its pretty well balanced now as you don't have that Reaper bullshit but sometimes you do come across the 5 Rax Reaper build I believe is the name and its quite a pain to deal with.

Sorry, but the way he attempts to some-up a matchup in 3-4 words(that were hardly correct to begin with), and then asks for advice like it will be that simple, makes me really doubt he was ever B+ (which is really good, comparable to top masters)

The reaper was nerfed into oblivion months and months ago, TvZ is generally considered the most exciting match up now; the standard is marine/tank/medivac against ling/bling/muta, into hive tech vs ghosts in the late game. I recommend the Leenock v Jjakji GSL Final to see this MU in action.
ZvP was still colossus based for a long time, but then the infestor was buffed and ling infestor became really pretty strong and protoss can no longer just turtle and deathball it. I don't even think there is a standard, there are a few new styles coming out and it's pretty cool. Check out Huk and Hero's PvZ, and probably Stephano for ZvP. At least I think it was him doing cool ZvP stuff...at IPL...anyway can't really think of any other ZvP specialists off the top of my head.
ZvZ I'm afraid I have absolutely no idea :D
As for balance it's looking pretty good. I don't think any race has a right to complain right now.
I'm not gonna list all the patch notes, I'm afraid you'll have to find them yourself. Well actually...SC2 should come up with a list of them when you get the balance patch.

I use the rule of 3 my friend. Subtract 3 levels when someone states their past pgt or iccup self-over-speculated ranking.
C+ (at best)

I agree, either he really hates the game or he is lying... I don't see too many high level BW players defining matchups like that.

it honestly can't be helped, that's just how selective reading/writing works. you lack some sort of meat to what you're writing, and the reader makes up the rest.

Well guys, this blog pretty much became about my legitimate iccup rank than about SC2 Strategy... which is fine....
I got B+ on my account Meatpost[AoV] - Cant remember which season - record was like 120-70.
Unfortunately, that account was banned along with the proof. If you knew me, you know im not lying.
Also, got B (60-10) season after that, on G4i.MeyvN, which again was banned.
You guys can call me a liar, but if you knew me, you know im not lying

I dont know if you kept up with the gsl's at all but you should check out nestea vs sc game 5 from the may gsl. Its a match i think everyone should watch cause its fucking amazing lol. Hope you get back into the flow sir <3
