My ZvZ winrate was usually pretty good, it was the highest out of my three matchups.

It was at about 60%. Now on the ladder alot of zerg's have been going mutas and I don't really know how to deal with them.

I tried hydras, they get owned when the muta numbers get to high, then there's infestors which if they just split up their mutas into a few groups will never kill all the mutas before they get killed themselves.
Then what else is there ?

So I ask how do you guys deal with mutas in ZvZ? Is there a way to stop them from going mutas?

They usually get like 3-4 spine crawlers which even make roach pushes fail.

I'm really clueless about muta's in ZvZ right now.

would be good knowing your league i myself allways go muta because it just works better than everything else.
other than muta i would imagine going a few hydras into fast infestor should work pretty good just dont like mass hydra just like 8 to defend the mutas and then go fast infestors. what works allways good in zvz is like burrow 2-3 infestors into each base and then just throw all the energy into infestet terrans and fungals. muta isnt very good against that

Thanks, it's definitely worth the a try.

My league is Diamond, I've been varying between high and low since one day I'm feeling really good and beating alot of good players and then the other day I'm getting beaten by one cheese or anything which throws me off and then I keep losing..

I've been getting a lot of zvz's in ladder recently. I actually look forward to zergs that go muta because its pretty easy to counter if they don't do much damage. Get fast hydras/infestors and upgrade hard. Get your third up quick and push with a creep highway and 2-2 ups on your roaches and hydras. You have a window of time where a push with these units is devastating. If they go muta they have to do some sort of damage with them or they are pretty useless against straight up engagements.

Why don't you make mutas?

They are pretty cool you know.

I think it'll be better to have posted this on the SC2 Section.

Infestors and hydras are both common response. Infestors lend themselves more to longer gameplay (and if you hit his muta clump with a fungal, as you are likely to do against players with diamond level micro, they absolutely melt), whereas a welltimed hydra-push with a creep highway or an offensive nydus can be deadly.

my approach to mutas in zvz is kinda the same as in zvp, delay their army while massing spines so u can get broodlords and win. if u rly dont want to get mutas then i suggest playing tvz for a while to understand how terrans defend against them (not using thors ofc)

Get your own mutas with carapace upgrade. Pretty sure it was Slush vs Nestea game 1 @ MLG providence that really shows this off. Try to find the replay and see if you can get anything from it.
