My computer hates me. The Internet hates me.
I didn't do anything.
All I get now are ridiculous crashes to desktops. Ridiculous Blue Screens of Death. Ridiculous Internet disconnections. Sometimes all at once. But never a day of gaming without them.
I load up Steam. Bam, Blue Screen of Death.
I load up Starcraft. Bam, Blue Screen of Death.
I try turning it on again. 2 minutes into the game, crash to desktop.
I try, again. 20 minutes in, Blue Screen of Death.
I continue to try. 20 minutes in. Internet connection shits itself for a second, and forces me out. I'm on a wired connection.
I can understand losing to random all-ins.
I can't understand losing to... everything.
Anyways, today was the most epic game I've played in a while. Mine out half of Metalopolis. I aggressively massed Roaches off 3 bases, and we trade armies a bunch of times while expanding. He slowly edges ahead and attacks me. I barely hold 3 or 4 times. He does a bad engagement while my Tier 3 kicks in and I pull ahead. I deny the gold, and am about to kill him one last time, I hope.
The Internet cuts off, and I lose.
Screw that. I'm going to read. Or Voltorb Flip.

build a new one or stop playing. If it annoys you by playing it, why bother?
|
Sorry.

BSOD's are not part of normal computer behavior. You may have a virus, may I suggest running malwares super anti malware and see if that finds anything? It may also be a hardware problem, but random BSOD's usually mean bad things.
If you can't find anything and still think its software, you could either try a reformat, or possibly run hijackthis and see if there is anyone on this forum who is able to analyze those logs (I have some idea, but probably not enough to help). I mean this isn;t an issue that is going to go away by reading a book, you might as well try to find a solution...

I've reformatted the hard disk and still have problems. HDD prices are too high at the moment for me to go and buy a new one. Hence I'm stuck.
Going to read Inheritance now.

When have HDDs ever been cheaper?

@topic: Well what does your BSOD sez? I mean it does tell you what file/random stuff did cause it (just try and read it, it's somewhere close to the top after that msg thet tells you BSOD has happened and should be something like abc.sys or abc.dll file). A quick google search might solve your problem or give you a good info on what's going on and what needs to be done to fix it.

My computer used to BSOD all the time too. Had to stop laddering for almost half a year. I feel your pain bro

Why the hate for ladder? Your computer is the problem.

Thats a serious bad beat

hdd's are expensive now because of the floods in thailand before the snap judgement of "LOL POOR IDIOT HDD'S ARE CHEAP"

I can understand your position completely. I don't normally mind losing, but when it's because of computer or internet problems it's infuriating. My video card kept cutting out daily for a month and I had other problems after replacing it, during which time I couldn't ladder at all. Make sure you find the right problem before you pay to fix it, otherwise you'll just get more frustrated.

The title of this blog is confusing :s
You hate ladder because your computer dies when you load up steam?
|
Really reset your pc to 0 or get a new one, this is not normal you know
|
Clean your computer's innards, reinstall everything. If that don't work give up and get a new one.
BTW I played a friend in a custom after a long break from SC2. He was in my base with Stalkers and Zealots and Immortals and I was dead as dead can be. But as I was just bming him by lifting off and landing over and over for fun, his computer crashed and I won.
I remind him every single day.

erratic behavior can be caused by faulty RAM. You can try switching slots for your ram sticks, try to boot it with only 1 stick (if you have more than that), moving them to unused slots, etc.

Huh? How much are HDD's there? the cheapest you can get for 1TB is 80 dollars or something (NZD of course)
I wonder if it determines where you li- (BSOD)
